Re: why are the electrical connectors glued into place?

Hey Jab136, In the electronics industry, connectors and components are routinely glued in place with a variety of substances. These substances range from PDMS (silicone) to hot-melt adhesives (Urethanes, polyamides), to toughened epoxies. In the industry this is known as "staking" and &quo...

Re: issue with one of the connectors on the back of the bed of the N2+

just sounds like you should calm down I detected nothing but calm in what Jab136 wrote. Jab136, most likely a large glob of plastic formed when the nozzle fell out, and that glob was moving around with the extruder head and pushed the connector off. On both my N2 and my N2+, the connector was held ...

Re: Looking at a Raise3D N2 (non-plus)

I have two Raise3D machines, an N2 and an N2+. I think they get more things right than any other manufacturer at this price point. Recently, I had a job printing some huge (1.5 foot tall) PLA parts that justified the purchase of my N2+. I rolled the machine out of the box, prepped the bed with glue ...

Re: Need help Truing the bed N2 plus

I made a video detailing the process of leveling my N2. It's intended as a companion to the official guide.

Wasn't going to post this one for a while, but since it might be able to help you, I went ahead and finished it.

Here's the video:

Re: Need help Truing the bed N2 plus

Here are two YouTube videos on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Du8OdPosrMo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9-vg2UllhA I'm working through this myself with an N2 and N2+. I've got my N2 dialed in reasonably close. Are you performing this operation with the bed warmed up? For me, it had ...

Re: What are your current projects?

I'm in between Julia and Mecha_Monster. I run a fast prototyping shop where I do new product development, and I also make optical instruments and do basic R&D for a few different industries (right now, mostly for Hollywood stuff). So if you are reading this and you have any weird ideas you'd lik...

What does "First Layer" mean when using a raft?

Hi Raisers, In IdeaMaker, in the slicer settings under Advanced-> Layer, there is a section called "First Layer Settings". When I'm using a raft, does this setting refer to: 1. The first layer of the raft? or 2. The first layer of the print on top of the raft? Thanks for the clarification....
