Re: Print keeps shifting

I know it seems implausible and is probably not the case here. Just to explain a little further, I had a large print which failed in the way pictured (shift of some kind). At some point during the print process, the print head mashed the heck out of the limit switch. Every print after that was showi...

Re: Print keeps shifting

You don't have to, but you will get better results as a general rule. I only check filament when it's acting up. I've had similar problems to yours once or twice. The first time, it was a nozzle strike. The other times, my limit switch was mashed (I know this seems improbable). Poke your head in the...

Your link doesn't work.

Re: Filament Brand suggestions

Warpage is my issue. I gave up on the Buildtak and just installed Gizmo Dorks PEI sheet. Seems to be sticking a lot better now. Does the bed temp increase of 8 make big difference?[/quote] I use ABS juice on glass, but yes, it makes a big difference for me. If the bed is at 100, prints will peel up ...

Re: Filament Brand suggestions

My go-to ABS is eSun black, I've printed many hundreds of objects with it. The only change I make to the stock ABS profile is changing the nozzle temp to 245 and the bed to 108. What sort of problems are you having?

Re: Filament Brand suggestions

IC3D fans, have you had any luck with their black filament? I print a lot of engineering parts in black and I'm willing to pay for quality.

Also, a bit OT, has anyone tried any of the low-warp ABS formulations? They seem to be really expensive and kind of hard to source.

Here's an XY flexure. Might try building something like this m'self.

Re: Rotating Ball-Screw nuts

It seems like it would also be possible to design a printed flex-joint that allows translation but not rotation. This is super-crude, but something like this (with one additional degree of freedom):

Thanks for posting this. I've had as many fails with ASA as I've had failures.

Where do you get your ASA?

Impressive prints. Did you print the bolt and nut just to try that out? I always try to use the real fasteners when possible.

Re: Weight of N2 or N2+ dual extruder assembly?

Thanks. From that thread: So a stock single is 155+288= 443g Stock dual extruder is 253+288+288 = 829g Broken down individual weights of components: Stock single extruder aluminum block plus acrylic top plate and 2 thumbscrews without motor is 155 grams Double aluminum bracket plus acrylic top plate...

Re: Easy printing, high-temp material

I've used MR16 halogen bulbs on a dimmer to keep the print warm and prevent warp. On the Makerbot this was super easy because there's a huge area around the print.

I went looking for low-warp ABS and it sure seems expensive. I would definitely be interested in US-based low-warp ABS around $30/Kg.

Weight of N2 or N2+ dual extruder assembly?

Hey all, I'm working on my N2+, and want to simulate something. If you have weighed the dual extruder assembly from an N2 or N2+, how heavy is it?

Re: ABS warping

I've been using ABS slurry for years on my old Makerbot, and recently started using it again with my N2+. Works surprisingly well. I definitely prefer it to BuildTak and PEI sheets.

Re: Anyone have a spool of Raise3D Premium Red? / Restock time?

Are you in the US? I have two partial rolls of Raise3D Red premium PLA that have been sitting out for a while. Probably need drying. Probably about a kilo in total. You can have them for $5/ea plus cost of shipping - but I'm going to take them to some full-service mailbox place because I don't have ...

Re: Spiral print rough on one side

I had a symptom like this in some large prints. The problem turned out to be that the "rough" side was not getting enough air from the cooling fan(s). Try to visualize that side of the print. Does the fan dwell on that area as much as it does the other areas?

Re: Just Released N2 Pro

If you want details on the extruded, just go to http://shop.bondtech.se/en/upgrade-kits/raise3d/raise3d-dualdirect-upgrade.html. I just installed this on my N2 Plus a few weeks ago. I’m fairly certain that Raise3D is using this specific extruder. It looks identical to the one in the Pro2 photos Tha...

Re: Just Released N2 Pro

Congratulations, Raise3D. Personally, I'm most interested in seeing sample prints, and in more technical detail about the extruder. I'd also be curious about the long-term availability of the current models. As someone who recently left a corporate environment, I can see the need for a "service...
