Re: Replace thermocouple with thermistor?

Thank you JetGuy. I'm running E3D myself too. I hadn't thought about looking for the sizes of the two bores.

Did you see my post here: http://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14683 ? I did the work after that phone call we had many months ago now.

Re: How I more than doubled my print speed while increasing accuracy

Zemlin, you're not going to be able to go to 12mm and hollow. It will be too soft and too large. The igus bearings need a holder to be pressed into, and that holder takes up some space as well. Additionally you have to get the hot end situated and filament to it in a straight line. I found the absol...

Replace thermocouple with thermistor?

I'm considering trying the Mosquito hot end. However, it uses a thermistor. Can I replace the thermocouple with a thermistor it I run the wires all the way back to the motion controller?

Looks very interesting. I may indeed design a printhead to use that hot end.

Thank you john

Re: How I more than doubled my print speed while increasing accuracy

Thanks Ari for the kind words. The nozzle was 0.6 and the filament was R3D PLA. Yes that was in real time. When I first started printing at these speeds it was hard to watch the printhead move. It was too darn fast and just felt wrong. Now I am used to it. Actually the printhead body is made from po...

How I more than doubled my print speed while increasing accuracy

Many months ago now I had a phone call with JetGuy -- the only one we ever had. It was a great pleasure and fun to talk to him and I learned a lot. One of the many things we talked about was the R3D gantry vs. a CoreXY gantry. JetGuy's opinion (the short of it) is that CoreXY is capable of a better ...

Re: Palette 2 Integration with N-Series

There are videos on-line to walk you through the install and firmware updates. I have not even used mine yet. Too busy! I used some cone head M4s to attach the mounting plate directly to the plexiglass. I needed to keep the enclosure intact so did not mount the Palette inside the printer where the f...

Re: How do I extract worn out hex bolts from a N2dual top shroud and where do I get replacement screws please?

Before you go to a lot of trouble, insure that your hex key is in very good shape. The hex key itself may have been damaged and a new one may work. When I have used a hex key for some time -- or a lot of bolts, i grind about 1 or 2 mm off the end to revive it.

Re: More on removing parts with alcohol

Hey John, Are you using eh PEI film or the sheet stock? (what thickness?) Also, are you adhering it with the 3M doublestick or just clipping it in place so you can -flex-release it when its done? PS - I just spent 20 minutes removing my first eSun ABS+ part from the stock buildtak (i had it at 110)...

Has anyone more to say about integrating Palette 2 Pro and Canvas Hub by removing the LCD and substituting Octoprint? I'm running an N2.

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

I'm running ABH's 1.1.9 single N2. I have found that if I try to set a PID setting manually that the system hangs on the save and I have to hard reboot. If I use the auto tune PID function and try to save the results, again the machine hangs and requires a hard boot. After the restart, the PID value...

Re: Hot end not heating up fully

I thought I should put in a final word on this subject. So, firstly, it is now obvious to me that the temperature indicator in the LCD can rise smoothly AS IF the hot end is heating up when in fact the hot end is not getting much hotter at all. Recently I set the temperature to 275C and I could not ...
