Adapted Olsson Ruby nozzles

If you are printing any filled filaments, glass or carbon fiber in particular, you know that brass nozzles have a half life measured in hours. Don't bother buying the Raise3D "hard" nozzles. They are not hard. They are essentially the same standard brass nozzles with an electroless nickel ...

Re: Extruder Jam and stuck fillament Pro2

The Pro2 is my first printer. I have been able to print Matterhacker Nylon X, and 3DXTech PETG with glass pretty reliably. I then tried 3DXtech Nylon w CF, Gen 2 and all hell broke loose. Lost count of the hot end jams. Tried dozens of setting combinations. Worked with their tech support. Occasional...

Re: IM slicer and filament Pro2 related

Thanks Vicky... The short cut CMD A works, although the use of the command + select to pick one then the other does not. (which was what I had tried previously).

Re: Copy print files from the Pro2 to USB?

Hi Vicky, I reviewed the link - post you referenced above. The problem was not knowing about the setting buried deep in Privacy to enable exporting. That fixed the issue. This speaks to the overall problem of documentation. The link you provided was up long before I acquired my Pro2. There doesn't s...

Re: IM filament management

Hi Vicky, using IM ver 3.1.7.1850 Create or Duplicate do not cause a crash. I copied the crash report generated by Mac OSX and can send it to you if that is helpful... I don't see a way to attach it here. I just spent another 15 minutes trying to deduce the logic in the filament management logic and...

Stop print.... immediately!

Description: Presently, loading a print starts with heating up the exrtruder(s) and bed. Completely logical. However, it is impossible to stop the print if one suddenly realizes a change of some sort is needed. The Stop Print choice is ignored until all temps are reached. Version: 3.1.7.1850 Mac OSX...

Printer Nozzle diameter selection

Description: Presently, selecting the nozzle size can only be done in Printer settings from the drop down menu in IM. Only one nozzle size can be selected. Version: 3.1.7.1850 OS : Mac OSX 10.11.6 Reason: Nozzle size selection should be a setting in the filament setup and not buried in a single IM ...

IM filament management

I really need to vent about filament management in IM. It is driving me crazy! I have created filament files for various nylon based filaments based on ABS filaments provided in IM by default. I created a Nylon group but for the life of me there seems to be no way to move filament templates around! ...

Copy print files from the Pro2 to USB?

I often don't save (export) files to my computer for a given part because they are "experiments". However if a print works out well then I might want to save it or give it to a colleague. I have not found a way to copy a file from the local storage back to a flash drive, (or the networked ...

Stopping a print before it starts printing

I have had a change in thinking on a part or filament settings many times after pressing "print" on the touch screen and then want to stop the print process. It is maddening that the firmware is structured in such a way that all temps must be reached before the print can be truly stopped. ...

IM slicer and filament Pro2 related

I tried setting fan speeds on a particular filament to a very low speed... 10%. Turns out the fan won't run at 10%, it just "jitters". The software should not let us input values that exceed operating thresholds. 25% works, but I haven't tried settings in between yet. (What is the lower li...

Re: Wire failures in the cable chain

Sorry, I did not take a photo of the replaced OEM plate while it was installed. It is a small, 1.12" square plate apprx .12 thick and is attached to the right hand side of the Filament sensor base housing and the cable chain attaches to the plate. This is the plate...

Wire failures in the cable chain

I have communicated with Raise3D already regarding what I believe to be a design error that leads to premature wire failures in the cable chain. This may be a factor in the previous post regarding heater temp errors. A friend and I both purchased Pro2 printers at essentially the same time in the fir...

Pro2 nozzle - bed gap calibrations and pre-print heating

The left nozzle, when down, can be calibrated for bed gap when everything is cold. Then to calibrate the right nozzle, the nozzles must both be hot before it is possible to retract the left and extend the right. If the right nozzle needs adjusting one is dealing with a hot hot end. Can someone expla...
