Re: Need less distance between dense support layers and print.

So is that an internal test? I'm not sure I know what you mean in those pictures and if they are from the same slicer. But it would be great if IdeaMaker has the option to set the distance as desired and only the support (dense or other closest layers to model) will get resized in height to calculat...

Re: Need less distance between dense support layers and print.

I think they talk about if you have different models on the same build plate. Not sure why that should matter, because it could be the top layer on the support that is 0.15 distance and the slicer should be able to adjust distance at different places for a model right? So if the model itself is pri...

Re: Need less distance between dense support layers and print.

I don't really understand the reply (can anybody else pitch in? Or am I the only one realising this could be an essential feature?). That other slicer in my example works just fine the way I tried to explain. Also, my two closed source printers have better undersides when I print thicker layers in c...

Re: Need less distance between dense support layers and print.

That's what I wrote, the second picture has a gap of 0.15 mm as an example of half the height of the layer height. I think you are right, the 3 dense support layers in the second picture seem to be altered to leave the 0.15 mm air in stead of 0.3. They are probably calculated by the slicer automatic...

Re: Need less distance between dense support layers and print.

I sliced it again with standard settings to try to show what I mean: Here the model was sliced with 0.3 mm layers and a vertical support distance between dense support and model of 0.3 mm 0.3.jpg And here I only changed that vertical support distance as an example to 0.15 mm so support is closer to ...

Re: [SOLVED] [NO-BUG] [BUG][IM-3.5.3] Offset Support

I'm just thinking about how to get to the result I would like to see, mm between support and model so the rest at that height could also be printed at that layer height just like some slicers have (variable layer height) but this it not desirable at all to me. I tried another slicer that does use di...

Re: Need less distance between dense support layers and print.

OK, I think this should really be possible. I have two other brands next to my Raise3D that use closed source software that handle support settings this way. In one of the two you can adjust the support distance with a slider, the other is just closed so no settings but the support just works. I als...

Re: [SOLVED] [NO-BUG] [BUG][IM-3.5.3] Offset Support

If that's the case I would even rather have the slicer build a layer of the model at that height with the same distance as the vertical support distance. For instance, I slice a model with 0.3 mm layers but need the support vertical distance of 0.1 mm - can't the model at the height of that air gap ...

Re: [SOLVED] [NO-BUG] [BUG][IM-3.5.3] Offset Support

I have been hoping for mm for Vertical Offset for years now.. That would be such a nice feature. For instance, if you print with 0.3 mm layers 1 layer of 0.3 mm of ''air'' is just too much - you get ugly undersides. Also you will need to have different mm Vertical Offset for different materials so I...

Re: Touchscreen Firmware 1.2.0 Release Note 2019.4.9

I have a problem, after updating to this version my gcodes (Simplify3D) don't work anymore - they do work with a previous firmware. The screen will mention my printer is single nozzle and doesn't support dual gcode. I have an N2 Plus and I removed the second extruder for less weight so I have been u...

It could be the tablet battery needs to be charged well, I hope your screen will work after getting some power. I'm sure Raise3D can help you with this.

Re: How is the Pro2 compared with Prusa i3 MK3S and Tiertime printers?

A little DHMO never hurt anybody, I get exposed to it daily and feel fine. Here in the Netherlands we live below sea level so we are extra careful with the stuff but still we can't live without it either. On topic: the filters work about the same. Tiertime has promised gcode support which I find imp...

Re: Display has gone suddenly

Thanks but it was bought at Raise3D. Now I was forwarded to another reseller, I was quoted that it will cost more than €500!

Seems a bit high.. The machine was rarely used and bought in 2017 so no warranty (as expected so I was willing to buy a replacement) but these are SSYS prices :o

Re: Display has gone suddenly

I am trying to find out how to replace the screen but I have to show the invoice and where it was bought (support insists the reseller should help me), why should it be this hard to order? It's not like the printer wasn't made by Raise3D. It's your product right? I already gave the serial number so ...

Re: Display has gone suddenly

Sometimes the screen can't install the driver on wireless mouse. If your screen can be controlled by a mouse to cover all the function, then the issue should be only related to touchscreen. All the other boards and cables should be still functional. To fix the touch issue fully, you may need to con...

Re: Bracket/Fix for N2 Rotating Z-Axis Ball Nuts

I can't say I can see the accuracy has improved (the rods are a bit too thin and print head too heavy) but this does fix the sound when for instance the printer performs Z-hop. So I'm happy with this design.
