Re: XY-Shift AAaRRG!

Thanks V much for helpful responses. The shape is basically full of overhangs, and though there is lots of support, I agree theres every chance that something curled up and whacked the extruder. which, by the way, was loose and covered in plastic which had come out the top between the hot end and th...

XY-Shift AAaRRG!

Good Morning all, My 36 hour, 1.1kg print has failed because it has a number of xy-shifts on it. THis is really surprising, even relatively big prints before have not had this happen. 50quid down the drain.... Does anyone have any insight as to the cause? I guess, its happening because the nozzle is...

Re: Can you share your experience on printing PETG?

Hi There, PETG can be reliable but there are some key settings. Its sticky stuff so you don't want to extrude too much. I was finding that the next layer was mashing into the previous layer, and plastic would bunch around the head. and I was knocking over supports. In ideamaker, under printer, filam...

Issues with restarting a print

Hi, I noticed two "features" that Raise might consider improving. after a restart which involved turning off the machine and turning on in another room, the main cooling fan did not turn back on. Print was OK but I'm not sure this is an intended behaviour? also, I paused to change filament...

PETG stringing

Hi, my PETG prints - when they complete - generally look OK, but some strings are occurring and I can see some blobs on print surface which I'd liek to avoid.

Please can anyone advice on print settings, for ooze etc. I'm using Raise3D PETG standard profile

Air Prints PETG

When it works I'm getting lovely large prints from PETG - 700g of filament each time. (Usiing 0.8mm nozzle, with 0.35mm layer heights, everything printing at 40mm/s. Flow rate at 95%. But an unacceptable number result in air print, totally fustrating after 5 hours our of 24 and wasted plastic. IN al...

New owner: First impressions

Hi all, I though it might be useful to give first impressions as a new owner: (N2+ single) When you unpack the unit, and turn it on, it just exudes confidence that everything is going to be fine. Joel on youtube got some stick because he said it was going to be his best printer ever, even though he ...

Re: Large Print: advice on nozzle size to use?

Hi Michael, thanks. interesting. Its not a huge improvement is it. I guess if you are only printing 1-shell, then you won't see much of an improvement at all as the paths are jsut as long. please can you say what else need changing when the nozzle changes (or please point me to a wiki or other resou...

Large Print: advice on nozzle size to use?

Hi All, Am getting to know my new N2+ and enjoying the journey. So far its been very positive overall. OK so I need to make 24 items; the biggest has a bounding box of about 250mm x 200mm x 50mm. I've tested and confirmed I can successfully print in PETG, 0.4mm nozzle. but print time is 50 hours for...

Even 0.5mm not working.

Vicky thanks I'll send you a file. Do I attach here or do I mail you directly?

Will also try the flowrate issue - cheers.

Re: Hitting support layers / ZHOP settings

Hi. Thanks for the replies, but OK: please see attachment. I have zhop enabled, but there is still scoring. it makes a hell of a noise. So, the nozzle is scoring the support and the inside of the print (its doing both): then what settings shoudl I use to avoid this please? It sounds awful. cheers! S...

Re: Hitting support layers / ZHOP settings

Hi again, diffent print, higher zhop, no improvement. see attached. Now zhop is 0.5mm it just is not working. OK so I also have "avoid retraction inside model" checked. So: if zhop only happens when there is a retraction and the above is also checked, then zhop wont actually do anything? C...

Re: Hitting support layers / ZHOP settings

Hi (I'm sure I answered previously but my post awaited verification or something). anyhow, I've only got one nozzle. I check the template again and its got zhop of 0.02mm enabled. can I check a +VE zhop means the nozzle moves up, away from the bed? is 0.02mm typical, (I guess more is worth a try) ca...

Re: Hitting support layers / ZHOP settings

I've only got a single nozzle. I've checked the profile again after sending to the printer, and the zhop setting is still in place. So, either zhop is not working, or 0.02mm is not enough. (I assume a positive value is "upwards"?) the supports are quite long so the stress of the nozzle run...

Hitting support layers / ZHOP settings

Hi all, I'm having a problem with the nozzle hitting the tops of support layers in some areas as it skims over the top. I can hear it go thud-thud-thud as this happens. I can see scoring lines on the supports. I saw this happen on a smaller test print, loads of support fell off and I cancelled the p...

Re: Maker's Muse Review

Hi Mecha_Monster, I'd really appreciate you posting your PC settings and filament supplier please? An N2+ is on its way to me, and its purpose is to print/replace PC parts on limited run products that are currently CNC milled. So avoiding warping / decent accuract woudl be great, perhaps +-1mm out o...
