Re: Printing at 0.01mm (10 Microns)

Unfortunately not yet. I've been away from my home for a friends wedding and haven't been able to get any time with my printer. Will be starting this week though while tuning some filaments in.

Re: Printing at 0.01mm (10 Microns)

Oh cool.
Will try the tiny sphere and the cylinder too to see what they're like when I get some time.
Unfortunately not had too much time to try out the prints since posting this.

Re: Printing at 0.01mm (10 Microns)

That is true. Yeah I will be accounting for the time taken, but it is just to test some things out and have a couple of nice prints at the end to say "Here, this is the 0.01mm layer settings... you can't even see the layers!" haha

Re: Printing at 0.01mm (10 Microns)

Ah perfect that gives me some numbers to start with and then I can tweak from there to suit my machine.
Thank you so much! :)

Final thing, any extra changes in the ooze settings? Sorry for all the questions just want a sort of starting point.

Re: Printing at 0.01mm (10 Microns)

Ah yes, the model doesn't have that much detail, but I will always keep that in mind from now on :) Do you have any numbers to recommend for the 'very slow speed'? Or any lower limits for infill percent and such? Do you know of any good tests to perform to perfect this kind of layer height printing?...

Printing at 0.01mm (10 Microns)

Hello! So I've had the N2 for about 5 months and I've been mainly printing between 0.1mm and 0.2mm, however I fancy trying a few prints at 0.01mm. I'm mainly wondering if anybody else had done successful prints at the highest layer resolution possible, and then if so, what are the main settings to c...

Re: What has happened to the filament feed gear?

Oh just found out that if I take it out there is a locking screw in there that uses the alan keys. So I reposititioned it so I could have it at a similar depth it used to have (covers the filament feed) and tightened it back on! Sorry for the false alarm, I shall keep this up just incase anybody els...

What has happened to the filament feed gear?

I have just completed a 3 hour print and went to unload the filament and have just realised that one of the gears in the filament feed has become further back. Why is this? Please help, I'm fairly worried that something has happened that shouldn't have! The other gear is not moveable so it is stayin...

Re: Anybody got a way to help fix these?

Oh that sounds like a good way to vent it all out without having to have too much change of temperature in the build area!
Might try look into something similar, but may have to move a lot of furniture around else I would end up with the hose from one side to another! :D

Re: Anybody got a way to help fix these?

Ah started to confuse me there until I saw the following message! My printer is in the house and room so shouldn't get too bad with the weather but I understand it still fluctuates. I have attached those fan blockers provided by Raise and it helped with some stuff. I do have 2 reels of PLA provided ...

Re: Anybody got a way to help fix these?

I've done a few test prints with the calibration cube, it is what had made me increase the retraction rate. I had dropped down the flowrate of the filament also when setting up the diameter and filament width. I'll try this filament at a lower temperature. Would you recommend any other settings to t...

Re: Anybody got a way to help fix these?

Ah I just did a search through the forum and found some information on insulating it. I'll try get some of the materials and insulate. Do you have any tips for the settings to help reduce the stringing / ringing / rough edges of a print? The settings I used are screen shotted in the second post in t...

Here are the settings for the slicer profile I used: Layer settings: LayerSettings.png Infill Settings: InfillSettings.png Cooling Settings: CoolingSettings.png Ooze Settings: OozeSettings.png I have measured the filament in numerous places and have averaged out 1.73mm diameter. Anybody got a way to help fix these?

Hello! I've been printing this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:327753 with Wanhoa Premium ABS on my N2, the results are as follows: The ball of goop attached to the chin is from a build up that gathers around the nozzle during printing. There is stringing on areas and also ringing around edges. 20...

Re: Help with first time ABS printing?

Have you ever tried with other filament to compare the difference between the results? I haven't yet as I got 2 ABS filaments from Wanhao and 1 from Technology outlet, I'll try the other supplier of ABS I have currently Though may need to purchase more from Raise3D to see a full comparison. Normall...
