Re: Screen replacement alternate source?

I have an N2 and N2+ - I replaced the control boards so the screens are no longer plugged in. They worked fine at the time.
I can pull them out if anyone wants them. Just make an offer (via PM) that would make the effort to remove them worth my while.

Re: N2(+) Print Head Weight Loss Program

Bearing retainers and drill guide STL files. I printed these in eSun EPC clear using a 0.2mm nozzle.

Re: N2(+) Print Head Weight Loss Program

Here are STL files for the gantry block I printed and the cover for the stepper I pulled from the Bondtech dual. Again, I printed these with 3DxTech ABS+GF10 using a .6mm nozzle, .25mm layer, 270C, 80mms - 105C PEI bed. I also printed a nest to account for the draft angle on the block so I could rea...

N2(+) Print Head Weight Loss Program

I've been selling some 3D printed products I make on my N2 and N2+ printers. They are modified quite a bit, but the gantry is what it is. I put the Bondtech duals on the machines when they were brand new which saved a lot of weight, but the wimpy gantry rods have been causing some ringing artifacts ...

Re: Upgrading the gantry on my N2 to IDEX

I haven't seen big issues on the Z stage. I get some slight waves mid height on the N2+. I'm satisfied with the bottom end of the machine.

Did that already when I changed to the Duet board. Love the BLTouch addition.

Re: E2 flexible build plate, flexing when installed?

I'm going to just waterjet a plate locally and put steel pins or magnets in it. The issue is that the spring steel sheet is thin, so it flexes. A rigid aluminum plate held down by magnets should work better. Except that you’ll miss out on the main benefit of the spring steel plates - being able to ...

Re: E2 flexible build plate, flexing when installed?

I have had issues with large, dense builds. I had one where the whole plate started to lift and the part was spinning around the one point of contact in the middle. I'm a big fan of the magnetic plate, but it has limitations.

Upgrading the gantry on my N2 to IDEX

Doing some thinking about my N2 and N2+ printers. I replaced the control boards with Duet boards. Added heated enclosure. My next step is to add water cooling so I can run hotter in the enclosure. Two things I'd love to have are a more rigid gantry design and IDEX (independent dual extruders). When ...

Re: Buildtak Alternatives

I got a couple of those for my N2. I was hard on them - running PPE at the time so they each have hundreds of PETG face shields on them and I didn't let them cool well between runs. One has a fair bit of the PEI missing on it - the other one has scattered small specks. The smooth side seems pretty f...

Re: Has anyone done a 32bit upgrade to the N2 series?

Zemlin, How did you solve the daughter board problem? On the N2+ which gave me issues after the board swap, I ran a twisted pair, shielded thermocouple wire down to the control board. That did NOT resolve the fault issue I was having on the daughter board though. The E0 thermocouple was working so ...

Thanks. I've run eSun EPA-CF before - got pretty clean prints with that, but had ooze issues that needed to be trimmed off. Haven't tried the 3DX Nylon.

Re: Pro2 Extruder Gear Jam

I put the Bondtech extruders on my N2/+ printers. Just had to do a rebuild on them after thousands of hours of printing. They are not hard to pull apart, and spares are reasonably priced from Bondtech. Sounds like you have something in the gear teeth somewhere. With the extruder assembly off the mac...

Re: Buildtak Alternatives

I have N2 printers. PEI is my build surface of choice, but I wanted to get away from the double-faced adhesive. I made magnetic plates and use powder coated PEI flex build plates. Love this setup. I still have to use the glued PEI beds for massive parts that might warp and lift the flex plates off t...

Re: ABS parts sticking to bed

I like PEI for ABS. For filled ABS I have great luck with the PEI coated flex plates - requires a magnetic base plate. I run it at 105C. When the plate cools the part falls off. Lots of easy options for stick-on magnets. Not a fan of stick-on, so I made a magnetic plate. https://forum.raise3d.com/vi...

If I do it, I'll draw inspiration from these parts. I have metal working experience and adequate tools to make something similar: https://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php ... =40#p52285

Contemplating Water Cooling

I have an N2 and an N2+. I keep them busy. I've done quite a bit of work on them - one of the mods I did was adding heat the the enclosure. I often run the box at 55C. I'm reluctant to go higher, but some materials might benefit. The steppers and all the print head fans live in the heat. I'm conside...

Re: V3H nozzle setup

I swap nozzles of different materials and sizes all the time. I never mess with anything. Since the heater and thermocouple are near each other in the heat block, what you stick in the hole isn't going to make much difference. If you had a thermocouple at the nozzle tip it might matter, but that's n...

Re: Support type and better parameters

You need to tune your layer thickness to optimize your support. Since support separation can only be set as a number of layers, fine tuning requires you to adjust your layer thickness to find the point where support is still removable, but the separation distance is small enough to get decent integr...
