Re: Pro2 Printing from Filament Dryer

My Pro2 Plus has two inlet holes close to the bottom of the side door through which the filament can enter from an external dryer. Doesn't your Pro2 also have those holes? In my experience the inside of the Pro2 becomes something of a filament dryer itself when printing. I dry my filaments externall...

Anyone using Pro 2 with Cura?

Has anyone here managed to get a Pro 2 running on Cura? If so can you please share the start and stop gcode and any other settings & values I may need? I simply can't get my Pro 2 Plus running on Cura. The N2 profile on Cura certainly doesn't work for my machine.

How to print with different nozzle sizes

How do I go about doing the following: Outer shell (left nozzle 1mm) ABS 1mm extrusion width, 250C, 50mm/s, 2mm retraction and a few other individual settings Infill (right nozzle 0.6mm) CF/Nylon 0.6mm extrusion width, 270C, 60mm/s, 4mm retraction and a few other individual settings With Cura it's e...

Re: Nonplanar printing

This is an interesting concept and I would also welcome the capability but it will only really be practical on a single extruder machine with lots of room around the nozzle. Nonplanar printing on my Pro 2 for instance will be severely limited because of the small difference in height between the act...

Re: ABS Always fails

I mostly print ABS and it can be tricky sometimes but a 5% success rate means something is wrong. I don't know your specific machine (I have Ultimakers and a Pro 2 Plus) but the basic principle is the same. From what you say it sounds like a first layer / bed adhesion issue but let me ask first, wha...

Nozzle scraping top layer of part when moving

I use a Pro 2 Plus with Ideamaker. The nozzle scrapes the top layer of an object as it moves to a new position and I can't find a way of preventing that. I had the problem from day one, including with standard settings and Raise3d filament, and have been looking for a solution but in vain. In the ca...

Re: IdeaMaker support for 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator for Notebooks.

The Formlabs slicing software (Preform) supports 3d mouse and it's a joy to work with.

Re: Serious blobbing with ABS

Hi Vicky, Thanks for your efforts in reproducing my print. I understand that there's nowhere to hide the seam on a round object, that's why I used a round object for the test. I have some concerns with the solution you proposed: 1. Putting all the start points in a fixed location doesn't remove the ...

Re: Serious blobbing with ABS

I printed a round object and the blobbing occurred. I used the standard Pro-2 Plus setting for ABS. I attach the following: 2 pictures gcode file for the round object STL of the round object I didn't get time to print a non-uniform object but I guess we can see the problem good enough with this exam...

Re: Serious blobbing with ABS

Vicky, I don't have the gcode for that print any more but I will design something simple that prints a bit quicker and share the results & files with you. I think the only deviations from the original print profiles was the infill type, infill density and seam placement (random). Other than that...

Re: Serious blobbing with ABS

My motion controller firmware version is the latest (0-0-6-6) and my RaiseTouch is also the latest (1.2.1.428) both updated by the reseller a few days ago when I purchased the machine. My version of Ideamaker is also the latest (3.4.2.3140)

My ABS filament is also brand new.

Serious blobbing with ABS

I'm not new to 3d printing but new to Raise3d so I guess the learning curve starts again. I'm trying out my new machine and see a ton of blobbing on a part printed with: - Raise3d ABS - sliced in the latest version of Ideamaker - using one of the factory Raise3d profiles (medium quality) - printed o...

Re: 3D mouse compatibility with IdeaMaker

Just following up on this request. I use my 3d mouse in Rhino3D, Fusion360, Meshmixer, Formlabs slicer (Preform) - it would be great if I could have this freedom also in IM.
