iron at layer before top

I am currently having trouble with a problem you call pillowing (not to be confused with the crazy conspiracy spreading My Pillow Guy). It would be great if Ideamaker allowed Ironing at a defined layer prior to the top layer for smoothing.

Re: PETG Broken infill lines

I was going with the suggestions given by Ryan@Raise3d. He suggested that the cause could be damp filament or too low of a temperature. I dried the filament with no change. I than started bumping up the temperature until I got to 270. The broken line problem greatly improved. I was skeptical of such...

PETG surface issues

I'm trying to learn how to print in PETG on my Rasise 3d pro2 using Ideamaker. My latest print has terrible surface finish. The first few top layers have voids above the infill hollow areas, like little volcano's. The bed temperature is 60c. The filament is fresh and dry. The nozzle temperature is 2...

Re: PETG Broken infill lines

I'm starting to get better results after several prints ramping up the nozzle temperature. I dried the filament for 14 hours with no noticeable change. My last print was at 272 degrees (14 above matterhackers suggested range). The test part came out ok but the infill wasn't without some flaws but, a...

Re: PETG Broken infill lines

I appreciate any help and will try drying but I have tried 2 different brand new sealed spools from matterhacker. The temperature range marked on the spools is 230 to 255. I tried several temperatures up to 255.

PETG Broken infill lines

Using MatterHackers petg (several different spools) printed with 240c, 245c and 255c degrees (3 different prints all with 60c bed temp) the infill lines are never continuous as they should be. I have Infil...

Support raking

When I use support material on my pro-2 it often fails due to the nozzle raking across the print breaking the bond to the bed.

Wall thickness

I have a model with a hole in the center that needs to be drilled to size than tapped to from the threads. Is there a way to increase the wall thickness in this area so there is sufficient material for the post-machining operation?

filiment reload

Every time my filament breaks or runs out the x and y-axis homes (Pro-2 printer). The problem is that when I reload the filament there is a blob of plastic around the nozzle due to the amount of plastic that needs to be extruded to get past the break. The distance between the bed and the nozzle is s...

Restart after filiment runout

Gist A few quick questions so I'm prepared once I run out of filament. When the printer stops due to the end of the filament is reloading done the same as normal? Will the printer move to the x and y home position? Are all the axis jog switches available and the program remembers where to resume?

Jetguy

You seem well versed in things 3d printed. You must have that van all tricked out with power and internet.

Thanks for the reply!

Part dimension correction

Where do I correct for a part that is modeled correctly but prints undersize? I have a hole in a part that needs to be 35mm. I need to increase the modeled dimension to get this to work properly. Is there a setting in Ideamake to correct this so I don't have to change my models?

Temperature tree

I would like to print a test part to determine the best filament temperature. How would I write a script to increase the nozzle temp 5 degrees every 20 layers? Can this be done in IdeaMaker?

Z height shift

I have a pro2 that is a few weeks old. It seems that the adjustment screw for the height is way too loose of a thread fit. It takes the Slightest torque to adjust the height position. As a effect of this the height slowly changes for one print to the next. Anyone else experiencing this? Any EZ fix?
