Re: Printing with PLA and Nylon

Thanks 87ninefiveone
My parts are not intended to stick together. They will hold together mechanically rather than by fusion.

Printing with PLA and Nylon

My project concept includes a part which is made of two materials - eSun PLA+ and eSun ePA Nylon. It would be extremely difficult to make the sub-units separately and fit them together as one would have to do with conventional manufacturing. With FDM (Raise3D Pro2) it should be possible to create th...

Re: Lowering Print Platform during Filament Reload

I would assume this is an issue that occurs when you have only printed a few layers? Otherwise i don't see why you would want to lower the build platform? You could also just clean the nozzle before restarting the print can you not? Sorry for the slow response. I think the three posts following you...

Re: Plate holes not bonded to surfaces

Hi Sunshine

What did you use to create those images?
Are they showing extreme closeup of each extrusion thread?

Re: Keeping Holes in Raft Structure

Thanks Vicky but don't, in this case, bother doing something special just for me. (I'll know to ask if I really need something like that  ) In the meantime, how about this IMG_1570.JPG I'm printing an anemometer cup 2019-08-10_8-56-58.png Honest - I haven't changed anything. See the zip file f...

Re: Plate holes not bonded to surfaces

Thanks Sunshine I use eSun PLA+ filament. I am using three shells because the major project I have on at the moment is bolted together. Fewer shells buckle too easily around the bolt holes. It is also a question of structural strength. My projects are mechanical models, prototyping work not ornament...

Keeping Holes in Raft Structure

With a Pro2 there is a checkbox on the Platform Additions page of Advanced Settings titled 'Keep Holes in Raft Structure' . Since I 'UPGRADED' the ideaMaker software recently that checkbox has no effect. With it checked I get 190808-Checked-640x591.png and unChecked I get 190808-unChexked-640x599.pn...

Re: Plate holes not bonded to surfaces

Thanks Sunshine , I think that will prove right but it does leave me with an issue. Here are my retraction settings 190808-ExtruderSettings.png I keep getting a build-up of material at the end of a row of extrusion and this amount of retraction didn't fix it. That's why I increased the 'Coasting' se...

Plate holes not bonded to surfaces

Printing a foundation plate for a device produces this problem: 190807-Incoherent-478x640.jpg The surface you see is the third layer and it has not yet bonded to the through-holes. On the left you will see that bonding between lines of filament material is also a little haphazard. It does all bond i...

Re: Free IDE (Code Editor) for 3D Printers

Another problem with NC_Corrector, it doesn't recognise Raise3D GCode. I created a simple test piece in Autodesk Inventor, saved an STL of it and sliced that STL using ideaMaker . Files attached. NC_Corrector sees something there but can't understand the code. 190724-NC_Corrector on Raise3D Gcode Te...

Free IDE (Code Editor) for 3D Printers

Where can I download a (free) IDE (Code Editor) for 3D Printers? There are plenty around for CNC machines. There must be some for 3D Printers. Notepad++ can read and write GCode but it doesn't have a screen simulation for action. CNC IDEs (e.g. NC_Corrector) have a screen simulation but they don't s...

Re: Lowering Print Platform during Filament Reload

IliaT, you can lower the filament in your other cases (well, if you have a Pro2 you can). Go to Utilities and press the Down arrow for the Z axis.

Re: Lowering Print Platform during Filament Reload

Am I to assume from three days without the suggestion of a solution that there is, in fact, no solution?
Does anybody have a way to lower the Printing Platform when installing a new reel of filament after having run out?

Lowering Print Platform during Filament Reload

When myPro2 runs out of filament in the middle of a job it parks the print head at home but does not lower the Printing Platform. This means that the Preload phase of Unload , then the Load phase of filament replacement creates a large clot of extruded material around the nozzle. This, in turn, caus...

Re: Dollop of rubbish at start of print

Hi Jetguy Thanks again for a very detailed response. Until someone writes "3D Printing GCode for Dummies" I, and the zillions of people like me, will have to rely on the good nature and patience of people like you. Please be assured, all of you, that it is appreciated. Here are some questi...

Re: Dollop of rubbish at start of print

Hi Kfleck I have made my first excursion into the wonderful world of GCode, an attempt to figure out what your code for the two lines of pre-extrusion actually does. I have come up with this: G21 // millimetre units G90 // absolute positioning M82 // E absolute M107 // Fan off G28 X0 Y0 // auto home...

Re: GCode syntax

Happiness (for now anyway) will be getting to the stage where I can interpret a line of GCode. Actually writing GCode is not on the agenda. That Marlin link should provide the key.

Thanks again

Re: GCode syntax

Jetguy

I found this reference site.

http://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/G000-G001.html

Is this the GCode for Pro2 you were talking about?
