Printer smells

I've had this Pro2 for a couple of years and never noticed it but a couple a months ago my office smells like hot plastic/filament. The last thing I did was print some rather large parts with ABS. That the filter or something?
Any Ideas?

Nylon print surface

I like nylon/PA but have terrible problems with warping. A while ago I was ordering some new print surfaces from BuildTak and noticed they make one for nylon. It took a while with all this Covid stuff but I finally got them and they work very well. Parts I tried to print before but couldn't came out...

Re: Simplify3D Offsets - Preview vs Actual Print doesnt align

Which extruder are you using, I always use the left and can't really say how they take the offset into account. i.e. I don't know if both extruders can cover the same 305mm or if it's 305-25 when using both or offset when using the right. Just a guess. I use S3D and was able to print 304 on the left...

Re: Simplify3D Offsets - Preview vs Actual Print doesnt align

I noticed the setup in S3D I got had x=305, y=280 and an x origin offset of -25 (in G-code). This doesn't match the printer, I don't know why the -25 but I suspect it has to do with the dual extruder. Anyway I made a box outline 304x304mm and when I printed it it clipped the left side. I changed the...

Re: PLA Warping? Is it the fan or the PLA?

I would go with Vicky's suggestion, check you leveling and clean your bed. I had a horrible time with warping printing large thin shell parts. I took to printing brims but but I cleaned and tuned it and I haven't seen warping since. And I print with cooling turned off with PLA.

Re: Pre-Print Extrusion Causing Print Failures

I know it's very irritating to sit there while it warms up to grab the goobers off the nozzle before it starts, other wise it drags the mess over and messes up your print. I think what you want is a purge line. I always print a skirt to get it started but even with that it will still mess up dependi...

Re: Support material/structures breaking

I use both, got S3D because I couldn't get Raise3d to do some complicated stuff and it's easier for me to understand.

nozzle drool or maybe prime?

Whenever I start a print after the extruder comes up to temp it extrudes probably a couple of inches before it starts to print. But then it drags the extra extrusion over to the print and messes it up, I have to sit and watch it till it starts to move and grab the mess off the nozzle. I thought it u...

Re: Support material/structures breaking

Z-hop or vertical lift on retraction with S3d works well.

Re: Turn the Heat Bed Off or Lower the BED Temp

Just make a multi-process build, set however many layers you want at one bed temp and the rest at lower temps.

[BUG][Pro2]Unload Filament, after print

This has happened a few times now. After I finish a print and go to change the filament with the machine still powered on, I select Unload and let it heat up, then I press unload again, then the machine goes into pre-load as usual but stays there continuously feeding filament. Even if I hit OK it go...

Re: Print detached from support during printing - Advice Appreciated

One think I've run into was the nozzle would hit the tops of the print and knock the support or the parts over, I used z-hop to get around it.

Re: Surface buggers

Here is the STL and a couple of pictures of what I see on layer starts, if I start the layer on the edge of the model I get a couple of things besides the little buggers on the edge. I get incomplete layers and exaggerated interaction with inner structures, meaning I can get the rest of the model to...

Re: Surface buggers

Not sure I understand that answer, are you saying that my internal structures are being regarded as infill and since I have infill turned off those structures dissapear? Another thing, I can can greatly reduce the shell interaction with the internal structure by reducing the extruder amount but then...

Re: Raise PLA and lines not staying together

When I got my pro2 I spent a week or more with horrible stringing, finally gave up and started using S3D and the stringing went away, finally went back to IdeaMaker and copied the setting the best I could from S3D and the stringing went away. Wish I could give you an easy answer but there are tons o...
