Re: Bedplate Leveling

What is your dial indicator mounted to? My guess is they left the adjusting screws off the center so that it "sags" a little to perhaps mimic the sag of the head/rods when its in the middle. If your indicator is mounted to the extruder, the extra weight may be sagging the head more than no...

Re: Changing "First Layer" Settings

Who's PLA are you using for this? Here is one of my first prints using the R3D PLA and running the slice on ultra high quality. Very good surface fill. Other brand PLAs dont do this as well. Its a matter of tweaking temp, flow, and print speed. Try printing the spinner without a raft or support. You...

Re: Printing Giveaway Spinner Dual .gcode

Another beginner has just purchased a Pro2 and the thumb drive that came with it has the STL files for the two parts of the GiveawaySpinner but no IDEA, GCODE nor DATA files. Should these be with the machine? Where do I get them? Open or "add" the STL file in Ideamaker and run the slice. ...

You can also keep the wipe wall, but not have it contour with your part. Same ooze tab, drop down wipe wall type - choose Vertical.

Re: Consistent print failure due to poor layering

MatterHackers Pro series PLA, white. FrameUpper.zip Their Pro series reels are a little too big for the printer. Like Jay asked, check that your filament isn't hanging up. I've had to rewind the pro series stuff onto smaller reels (their Build series reels are OK). I kept losing layers too when I w...

Re: Preparing to swap nozzle - Any last minute advice?

I am fearful of taking a perfectly functional printer and throwing a wrench in the works, and want to make sure I've covered all my bases. I hear you on that one. I've bought a .8mm nozzle to step up from the factory .4mm too, but I haven't gotten up the gumption yet to make the switch. I have had ...

Re: Turn the Heat Bed Off or Lower the BED Temp

I've found (and let me qualify my statement by saying that I've only been doing 3D printing for a few months) that if I'm running a large piece and I turn the bed temp down after it's printed a couple centimeters high, the piece ends up pulling away from the bed as things cool. So I try to resist th...

Remove Silicone Covers for High Temps?

Doing my first Nylon prints. Wondering if the silicone head covers are OK for the really high temps or should they be taken off? Thanks

Bed Leveling

Replaced Builtak and found the bed wasn't level afterward. :? So will give my first bed level a go (very new to this printer - Pro2). The R3D procedure says to do with hot nozzles only. Should I do with hot bed too?

Looks like you are having a bed adhesion problem. Slow speed down, turn off cooling on first layers. Use Brim or raft.

Re: Any experiences using Matterhackers Build Series Filament?

Have used both Build and Pro series PLA from them and have not experienced any issues besides the Pro series reels not fitting in the cabinet. Build series reels are OK. I haven't printed anything complicated with that filament yet as I am just starting out using this printer. I like that I can get ...

Re: What would you adjust in the settings to fix this?

I've noticed the same thing. If the parts printing are just duplicates, no issues. If they are dissimilar, the quality suffers. Here is a very small gear. The one on the right was printing with another (shorter) part. The other was printed by itself. I won't print multiple, different parts at the sa...

Mine is not very responsive sometimes either, and I don't have many files on mine. To clear files, go to -print, then hit edit. You can highlight multiple files/folders, then delete.

Bad Fan?

First post here, and very new to 3D printing. I've only had my Pro2 less than a month and the left extruder fan is already making noise when it first starts up (for about 15 seconds). How long should these fans last? It hasn't been in use 24/7, but I have done a few 48hr pieces. Thanks for any info....
