Re: Supports

You'll never get amazing surface quality where support is used. I've used "dense support layers" set to 2 or 3 w/ 80% infill w/ decent success. Another thing I do often is cut the model up so no support is needed (or minimal) and then use printed dowel pins to and glue to put it back toget...

Re: PLA bed adhesion

I've had pretty poor success w/ the buildtak and PLA personally. I found putting blue painters tape over the buildtak made things better.

Re: Printing directly on the bed without a RAFT?

You can also consider blue painters tape. Works great for me. I print the the buildtak bed all the time w/o a raft using blue painter tape (PLA). I print directly the buildtak w/ ABS. Getting the Offset and level right is key though.

Re: Underside of prints looking rough

As the user above me has said, you'll never achieve great finish under support. Depending on what your printing with you could consider a water soluble support material. This enables you to do the support without any separation between it and the main model, and then dissolve it away. Although if th...

Re: z probe/sensor upgrade

Hey guys,

just a side note, but the reason you will see (and have to check) your offset at different bed temps is because of thermal expansion. Anytime you change the bed temp you should check your offset.

Re: Getting rid of PLA stringing on detailed Prints?

Sorry Phil I forgot to check back :) It should be x/y movement speed. I'd suggest using at least .150 mm/s Unfortunately it looks like you're correct they only offer the hardened nozzle in .2 I have these in .4mm and they work fine. I can't suggest any alternative that I'm certain fits either but br...

Few Ideas

When a print finishes and after hitting print success on the touch screen a few options pop up. I can't remember exactly what they say but there is one that says "Print Standby" and another that basically take you back to the home screen. I don't see any difference between the two. I thoug...

Re: Getting rid of PLA stringing on detailed Prints?

Stringing is generally from two things. Too high of temperature which I see you're running pretty low, but one thing I would caution to is don't be afraid to experiment outside of the recommended temperatures. Before messing w/ temperatures though I'd suggest upping the travel speed to at least 150 ...

Re: MatterHacker Pro PLA Problems

I'll interrogate the filament today and see if I can find any quality issues. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: MatterHacker Pro PLA Problems

Thank you I should of searched before making this post! Appreciate the link! Edit: After reading the post I see a common suggestion is temperature. The PLA says to print 205 +- 15 degrees. I've tried that entire range w/o much difference. Maybe I'll try even hotter just to see. It did print maybe 3 ...

MatterHacker Pro PLA Problems

I recently purchased this PLA from matter hackers and am having trouble with it in my Pro2. The symptoms are it basically acts like it's jammed but it isn't? Almost like the drive gears are slipping. This pro PLA is supposed to have better dimensional accuracy on its diameter so it doesn't make sens...

Re: Dual Extruder Issue Pro2 Plus

Hey Vicky, Yeah the G-code you gave me worked and I appreciate it. I was just curious as it seems to prime 3 times the amount when printing w/ a single nozzle (Original G-code not the new one you gave me) compared to when I print dual nozzle it's a lot less.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Dual Extruder Issue Pro2 Plus

This was helpful Vicky, but I'm still a little confused I guess you could say. When I print w/ dual extruders the amount it primes out of the left exruder is much less (and what I'd prefer) then when I print w/ a single extruder? Why is that? I understand I can make changes to the G-code value but w...

Re: Dual Extruder Issue Pro2 Plus

Hi Vicky, I'll try that but am a little worried because it is a fairly large amount of filament and it builds up to approximately .5" tall and I'm afraid it's just going to hang up as the extruders go by and such. I can post a picture if that helps. I'd expect a small amount of filament to come...

Re: Dual Extruder Issue Pro2 Plus

Vicky thank you this was the answer. I have another question on a different topic but didn't want to start a new thread. When I start a print it seems to prime and extrude a lot of filament before going to print similar to when you load the filament. This sometimes sticks to the extruder and drags a...

Dual Extruder Issue Pro2 Plus

I'm having an issue w/ our pro2 plus. Using the touchscreen to activate the right extruder nozzle, it does not lower, the left hand extruder stays down. I printed the dual extruder "spinner" stl that was provided on the USB drive, and the RH extruder did come down when was needed. But afte...
