Re: Spool Holder for N2

Got around to printing this spool holder out today. Printed will and the Spool Holder printed without support when oriented on its side. Parts fits well together and the stands are fit firmly on the printer itself. I havent had a chance to try to print with filaments loaded from this position yet, s...

Re: Spool Holder for N2

After many months away from 3D printing, I am getting back into it again. I redesigned the spool holder to use less material and have a better fit. I have not yet printed myself, but it should work well. The spool holder file will have to be oriented on its side in order to possibly print without su...

Spool Holder for N2

While I haven't had many issues with my filament being loaded in the stock position, I did have some issues using a Wood filament. The extruder feeder gear would slip on the filament in some cases. I do not have an easy way to feed filament from above, due to the location of my printer, so I decided...

Re: V2 hotend settings for 3rd party plastic

I run all kinds of PLA from Filamnets.ca here in Canada will the following settings:

Bed temp: 70C
Nozzle temp: 205C
50mm/sec
The only big change that I needed to make in order to avoid slippage with the feeder was to reduce Infill rate to 90%

Metal Filament from Virtual Foundry

Hello all. Not sure if this filament is yet available or if anyone has had the opportunity to try it through a pre-sale. Just wanted to ask if anyone has looked at it and thinks that it will work with an N2? I have the original brass 0.4mm nozzle and the V2H .4mm nozzle. http://www.thevirtualfoundry...

Re: Birdhouse

Well here it is hung in the yard on a 6x6 post (for scale).

No occupants yet, but still to soon to tell if anyone will move in.

Thanks for looking. (I mounted it a little crooked) :)

Re: Birdhouse

Here is the completed bird house with base attached. Total print time was about 52 hours using 0.25mm layer height.

Now I have to find a place to mount it in the backyard.

Re: Birdhouse

Would you like to advise the filament brand? Maybe it can provide some setting information to someone else who is using the same filament as you. Great idea Vicky. I should have mentioned that in my original post. The company I use is Filaments.ca here in Canada. They are great to deal with, and th...

Birdhouse

Just completed my longest print yet with the N2 V2 hotend using 3rd party white PLA filament. The prnt was just one part of a birdhouse design, which took 37 hours to print. Settings were: 0.25mm layer height 25% infill 5 shells 50mm/sec print speed 205C and 70C print bed temps Still have 2 other pa...

Re: Guitar Project

Here is the finished product. I'll try to shoot a short video of my playing and post it soon. This represents about 80 hours of printing with my N2 using mostly a wood filament and black PLA for the fret boards. I had a friend fabricate the metal truss rod for the neck, and then I ordered the tuners...

Re: Still getting Air Printing with V2 & PLA

DarrenN2, I just tried your suggestion of 90% flow rate and the print got about half way and then air printing again. I had the speed up around 70 though. What temperature are you using? I ended up lowering my temp to 205C and the print speed down to 50mm/sec on layer speed and 60mm/sec on infill. ...

Re: Still getting Air Printing with V2 & PLA

I had the same issue and tried some of the same settings changes that you mentioned in your post. What worked for me was to reduce the flow rate to 90% down from 100%. I think I may have also reduce the layer print speed to 50mm/sec and the fill print speed to 60mm/sec. I would probably keep retract...

Re: Guitar Project

Well finally after about 80 hours of printing, and tuning of the printer settings to work with the wood filament, I have all the parts for the guitar printed. The body is glued together, and now I am just waiting for the metal truss rod to be fabricated by a friend. Hopefully I will be able to post ...

Re: Guitar Project

Hello all. Well, after many challenges printing with this wood filament, I have persevered and have made some additional progress. I therefore wanted to share where I am at as of yesterday. I am currently printing the neck of the guitar, which has also been a challenge but it now 8 hours into 10 hou...

Re: Flow Rate with Wood Filament

Well, it looks like I spoke to soon. Around 4 hours into an 8 hour print the feeder started to slip on the wood filament and eventually would no longer feed. I have now officially given up on trying to print with this particular filament. I am now re-starting the project printing with regular PLA. T...

Re: Flow Rate with Wood Filament

I just wanted to update everyone with my progress, given your feedback. I also wanted to say thanks to Julia again who got me thinking about slipping and not clogging. I managed to complete another 7 hour print using the wood filament. I had to remove my feeder mod with the PTFE tubing to reduce fri...
