Re: Extrusion problem

Hi, Jetguy! YES you were right! The nozzle was the cause. The new one solved problem. The old one looks good, it is barely shortened (has a fairly low mileage), but apparently it is worn from inside. I've never seen something like that and what's more, defects in printed parts were so strange, so I ...

Re: Extrusion problem

Hi Saperusa, you are right, cleaning the nozzle after change of material is important. I use flush filament from Sun, and DynaPurge 3d Clean. The strongest I tried was The Flush from Rigid-ink, but it is no longer available. I never have clogs or jams. Sometimes cold pull with nylon filament is need...

Re: Extrusion problem

Jetguy, thank you for your help. I've replaced the extruder's fan some time ago for Sunon Maglev and I believe it will last longer than the printer itself. The nozzle looks quite good and it's not old, but I'm going to replace it anyway. I have not noticed any accelerated wear so far when printing p...

Extrusion problem

Hi, we have a problem printing small polycarbonate parts with complicated features. It runs quite ok (not perfect but acceptable) where the walls are smooth and simple. If there are small features, supports etc, then it looks like heavy underextrusion. It is not about settings because we printed hun...

Advanced nozzles for Pro2

One of the biggest disadvantages of Pro2 printers is availability of nozzles. You can buy many kinds of ruby nozzles, tungsten carbide nozzles and others from different suppliers, but not for the Pro2 printer. Raise3d's proprietary nozzle design give us little advancement, because common open source...

Re: ideaMaker 3.4.2 Release Notes

Vicky, you are right it should be separated. But still it needs to better fill in the layer. I set top layers to 999 if I want to get it old way, but even then the filling is still worse than IM 3.3.0. I can't share gcodes, because these are production files of commercial product. I would need to pr...

Re: ideaMaker 3.4.2 Release Notes

100% infill is not 100% infill anymore near circular edges. not full infill.png In previous IM versions 100% infill activated top layer infill across the model. Now forcing that by setting 999 top layers still gives worse results. not full infill 2.png In IM 3.3.0 Actually inner shells and infills w...

Touchscreen board - spare power socket

Is there any connector on Touchscreen pcb (Pro2) from which I could draw some DC power? Some spare 12V header or at least 5V? Does anybody know of one?

Re: ideaMaker 3.4.1 Release Notes

We produce numerous parts from Ninjatek Cheetah on our Pro2. I have dedicated settings for these parts. Calculated times and printing times are very different from the previous version Ideamaker. It's now much faster. For a given part, IM 3.3.0 calculates 69 minutes of printing, actual printing time...

Re: IdeaMaker gcode suggestions

We have 180C limit for manual nozzle switching coded in firmware now. So someone in Raise3D decided that 180C is safe anyway. But I have suggestion for something that, maybe, would overcome all these extruder switching problems. Is it possible to move extruder gears simultaneously with nozzle switch...

Re: IdeaMaker gcode suggestions

Vicky, keeping nozzle hot while waiting for the other to heat up makes that whole procedure useless. It is very important to cool down the nozzle ASAP when it goes inactive. Otherwise it keeps oozing when the other one is heating up. The snoot is forming, and it will be dragged to the model over the...

Re: Wipe Wall flowrate

Yes, you're right, picture was taken during printing offset calibration test after hot end replacement. The idea occurred to me right during printing that calibration. But sometimes it happens even on calibrated printer, or during one nozzle part-job. And single-loop wipe wall is sometimes too weak ...

Wipe Wall flowrate

It often happens after extruder switch so that the filament extruded on the wipe wall take a shortcut, causing wipe wall damage (recoverable or not). Wipe Wall Shortcut.jpg In other cases the wipe wall is not strong enough, especially when oozing prone material is used. Setting a double loop wipe wa...

Re: Dual Extrusion Problem, left Extruder Keeps Extruding when not used...

Fine tuning temperature is not enough if one of the printed filaments is prone to oozing. On a longer print sooner or later a snot dangling on unused nozzle will be dragged onto the model, destroying the print job. Unused nozzle is raised, so wipe wall cannot take off that dangling oozed filament. L...

Re: Why not two templates for two materials in two nozzles?

On Ooze tab there is "Extruder Switch Ooze Control" section. All those setting are related to retraction (and restart) and are strongly filament dependent. And there should be some kind of warning if any setting not separated for nozzles is double overridden by filaments settings and in co...

Re: Why not two templates for two materials in two nozzles?

Hi Vicky, that doesn't work when there is only one setting for given feature in the template. For example, if you want different "Extra Restart Amount of Extruder-switch" for both extruders, and set overrides in both Filament Settings, only one parameter is used in resulting gcode (don't r...

Re: Loads of New Exciting Updates available for download

IM 3.3.0 has a great new tool for cooling down inactive extruder during print. Unfortunately it is completely useless, because it messes with temperatures so bad that it even can swap temperatures between extruders. What a pity.
