Re: Dollop of rubbish at start of print

Thanks for the in-depth look. "G1 X120 E20.0 F5000 // linear move from current x (100) to x=120 // Wrong, in absolute extrusion mode, this value is 10mm less than the previous line making this a massive 10mm retraction -Danger much more can unload filament out of the gears and then you will nev...

Re: Dollop of rubbish at start of print

Hi Vagulus, I did that code over a year ago, I don't actually remember what all the changes were. but if you copy the whole thing from G21 to M117 printing... and use it to replace the existing code. one is for single extruder and the other is for dual. Hope that helps.

Re: ideaMaker 3.4.1 Release Notes

Thanks tja, I found those, and I wasn't using the start slicing button at the top. I was only using the play button on the left. That's why I couldn't see the reverse buttons.
Thank you.

Re: Dollop of rubbish at start of print

Mine did the same thing and it drove me nuts allways having to be there to wipe it as it starts. So i changed the startup GCode to put a line of each color before printing. Just copy and paste it in. this fixed my problem. Disclamer (Make changes to your GCode at your own risk) . Start GCode when th...

Re: ideaMaker 3.4.1 Release Notes

How can I tell what my original settings were when I change a setting now? the old version had a reverse symbol. Also it seems I cannot go through a slice one layer at a time since there are no arrows at the end of the sliders. I'm currently not a fan of this new version. may be going back.

Re: ABS and HIPS new settings since 3.3.0 update?

Yes, those settings adjust all flowrate. I adjust these to get the right wall thickness. I used the instructions above to set those. But this still doesn't change the Bridging. I also adjusted all the bridging settings under the "other" tab and they don't seem to work. IdeaMaker needs to p...

This is a mix of the simplify Gcode pasted into the Ideamaker code.

Startup Gcode IdeaMaker

I changed my startup Gcode. The original would drool both filaments then take off to print and drop that drool somewhere annoying. So I went through some Gcode from other software and came up with this. It places a line of each before going to the print. I am wondering what you Gcode experts think. ...

Re: ABS and HIPS new settings since 3.3.0 update?

Well, I have tried changing the bridging flow rate up to 110% then 120% and 200% and still no luck fixing this bottom layer. I have disabled the bridging detection and that also had no effect. I don't see anything I can change to fix this issue.

Re: ABS and HIPS new settings since 3.3.0 update?

Hey Shelton, Thanks for the guide. I went through the it and found my flowrate wasn't to bad. Ideamaker stock setting is .4mm width. my extrusion width was .385 so I increased the setting stock setting from 90% to 93.9% this should now put me at .4mm width. but I have already tried the flowrate sett...

Re: ABS and HIPS new settings since 3.3.0 update?

I thought I had this starting to work again, the test pieces looked ok. so I tried a part and the underside still looks like crap. what the heck could be going on. I'm going to try turning up the "bottom solid fill flowrate".

Re: ABS and HIPS new settings since 3.3.0 update?

Thanks Shelton, So far changing the flowrate up to 100% has helped the most. It was 90%. I have raised the bed temp to 105°C and lowered the extruder temps to 240°C. The obvious changes with Hips is all model to support gaps are Zero. and using dense support at 85% i'm doing this one small tweek at ...

ABS and HIPS new settings since 3.3.0 update?

Hey All, I just did all 3 updates on the PRO 2 and all my prints have turned to garbage. My bottom layers look horribly under extruded, even the top layers on a angle look under extruded. The towers have started falling over. I have tried using the stock settings that came with the upgrade and I tri...

Re: Nozzle drags on raft

I have moved the bed from .2mm to .279mm and raised the temp to 110°C. This has made no noticeable change to the dragging. I have yet to try to reduce the "first layer flowrate". My first layer is definitely taller than the specified .3mm. I have been arranging the tower and parts to minim...

Re: Nozzle drags on raft

Ok, I will try lowering the bed a hair and turning the bed temp up to 110°. It makes quite a racket when it drags across the first layer of the raft.

Re: Nozzle drags on raft

I have double confirmed that the bed is at .2mm in 5 different spots on the bed. I have a theory that the first layer of the raft is over extruding. the setting is at 100% I have not stopped a print yet to measure first layer height, but I have measured a completed raft and it appears to be coming o...

Re: Nozzle drags on raft

Thanks for the quick response Vicky. I checked the build plate to nozzle gap on Monday 9/24 with the provided feeler gauge, at 0.2mm, The heated bed is set at 100C on the cooling tab. I can re-confirm the bed height and level next week when I get back to printing abs and hips. Today i'm printing TPE...

Nozzle drags on raft

Hi All, My Nozzle drags across the first two layers of raft. it will print some then try to pass over it without raising up. some times pulling the raft up. I have retraction enabled and have adjusted z-hop at retraction from zero to .4mm in .1mm increments with no change. What I notice is that it o...
