Re: How to free up model from support

I learned something a while back - keep 10 fingers behind the blade and you'll always have 10 fingers! If you can't change temperatures, then more solid density layers will be your best bet. If you have better structural adhesion to the support layers than the model, then the support will pull from ...

Re: I apologize for using this as the first post.

Have a look at Jetguy's post history as he lists a few shortcomings with these printers. Personally, I've used it to prototype wind turbines and wheels for robotic lawnmowers without too many issues. It really comes down to what you're trying to accomplish with a printer, how fine you need the resol...

Re: Left or Right extruder

Jetguy weighed in on this I think two or three weeks ago in the general board. The left nozzle is the default.

Re: 8.5 day, 1242.5 g print - Am I tempting fate? - Questions

I'd post pictures, but it's under an NDA right now. I'll admit I had shorter nails when I pressed the print button, but after the first day or two, I left it alone checking on it between once a day to once every 3 days. That said, results will absolutely vary but so long as you're not doing anything...

Re: 8.5 day, 1242.5 g print - Am I tempting fate? - Questions

My longest print was an 11.7 day print and it turned out perfectly. If the STL file is good, the supports are good, and the template is good, then you're good!

Re: Dual extrusion

Beyond what Vicky has said, make sure to use a wipe wall (I have mine set to 3 layers thick). That usually solves the problem of any plastic delay on switching, albeit at the expense of wasted material.

Re: How to free up model from support

So basically this answer will be a continuation from Jetguy's response in the prior thread. It comes down to temperature and layer size. What's happened there is the support has bonded better to your model than the prior layer's support, hence why it's sticking to the model. More dense layers can he...

Re: Pro2 connects to wifi but Ideamaker won't connect to printer???

Can you see the printer showing up in the Linksys DHCP client list? If so, make the IP address static. Beyond that, if your router can see the printer, but your computer can't, then there's a problem between your computer and the router.

Re: Inner Shell Showing through outer, in preview - insights appreciated

I've created some "complex" parts where the inner layers juuuust show up here and there through the outer walls until you change the view on the model. That will make other inner layers show, and others disappear. Every time I've printed something looking like that in the model viewer, it'...

Re: Dollop of rubbish at start of print

The above user's post will definitely work, and I'll second that disclaimer. I pretty much always will be nearby until the printer does actually start up and take the putty knife, small utensil or my fingers (if the plastic bit is long enough to not get burnt) to manually pull the initial purge away...

Re: Power outage changes nozzles

I can't say I've run into this problem on my Pro2 plus. After two power failures caused by thunderstorms, I put a UPS battery between the machine and the wall. No issues with power loss since!

Re: Extruder heights while printing raft?

Hi Elliott My Pro2 (I don't know what printer you use) uses the Left Nozzle as default to print the model. Unless, when you imported your STL into ideaMaker, you specifically assigned the printing of the model to the Right Nozzle that is what will happen. IMHO you are making it hard for yourself. C...

Re: Changing "First Layer" Settings

Nice to see you over on the print settings boards!

Looks like you're using a raft with support. You'd want to increase the density of your support, and use dense support. For my finer PLA prints (using PLA as support as well) I have my values set to 70% and 90% respectively.

Re: Consistent print failure due to poor layering

Plastic brands matter. I've had a lot of success with Raise3D PLA on my machine, and anything from Polymaker. I tried a MH PLA last summer, and managed to end up with a PLA volcano in the morning. That said, other people have had good success with MH, so results will vary.

Re: Pro2 - Importing Setting to Right Extruder

In your slicing template, you can specify which nozzle to use for your model, infill and support. If it's importing the settings to your model, copy those to your support tab (if it's support material you're using there) and set the support to the right nozzle. Restore your settings for your left no...

Re: Extruder heights while printing raft?

The raft option will be under the support tab of your slice profile. Make sure the support nozzle is set to the correct one (as you have options for left, right or both in a dropdown window)

I have used Polymaker because it was on the list. I have had pretty good results with the PolyMax. Not so much with the PolySupport but I will keep trying. There are only 3 profiles on the page you sited for PRO2. I know there are plans to add more but *when* will more be added? Check my post histo...

Re: Max Bed Temp 70?

I've had my bed temperature at 110 on my Pro2. There is a setting in idea maker to put a ceiling on the temperatures which comes through with a slice. Check and make sure that's not set to 70, and as Vicky said, try changing the temperature on the print on the touchscreen.

Re: Ramp to Print Surface in Raft Printing??

Sounds like a good plan of attack for now. If you're still having trouble after doing a bed level, give tech support a call. You can also direct them to this forum thread so they can get a little more backstory.
