Re: Horizontal expansion + dense supports not working as expected

Ok thanks Vicky. If this is fixed, it will be a huge success for me.

Re: Horizontal expansion + dense supports not working as expected

Is this going to be addressed soon in ideamaker? This would really improve printing with soluble supports and interface layers. The main issue is that overhangs of hole cutouts on thin walls need support, but because the walls are so thin, there is a high change the supports will fall off, especiall...

Re: Nylon on the E2

I narrowed it down to a retraction issue on the tool change. The default retraction on the E2 during a tool change is 10mm. This was causing jams with the Ultrafuse PA. I've lowered it to 2.50mm and it seems to no longer jam.

Nylon on the E2

Does anyone print regularly with Nylon on the E2? I seem to be getting heat creep when I have the printer closed. I've managed to get some success with the top open but just came home to a failed print which had heavy retractions.

I'm printing BASF Ultrafuse PA at 240C.

Just an update - I have unplugged my fan since I mostly print with ABS & PC with great success.

Re: Ideamaker single template, multiple filaments

Ok thanks for confirming. I'll just duplicate the templates then instead of overriding in filament settings. At least the compare function works well for seeing differences!

Ideamaker single template, multiple filaments

I'm kind of confused about templates and filament types in Ideamaker. It seems like you can create parameters for each filament type and have those override settings in the template. This seems like a great way to have one template and simply override certain parameters like printing temperature in ...

Re: Horizontal expansion + dense supports not working as expected

This is a bug in my opinion though, dense interface supports should be placed at any interface between support and part.

I've raised a ticket with Robert who has put this to the idea maker team.

Silicone hot end cover for E2

Just wondering if there are any plans to make a silicone hot end cover for the E2 extruders?

Re: Buildtak Alternatives

The issue isnt adhesion to the build surface, it's that buildtak tends to bubble and peel away because they use weak adhesive - especially if you print lots of abs. The blue sheet I got has 3m adhesive on it which will last longer.

Horizontal expansion + dense supports not working as expected

I print in ABS and use BVOH as a soluble support material. I'd like to use horizontal expansion to ensure supports on small overhangs are printed successfully. However, when I enable horizontal expansion with dense supports, I notice that sometimes the expansion creates ABS supports on the inside of...

Re: Probe not stopping Z travel or home

I've done a bunch of tests which narrowed down the issue to either the extruder cable, or a cold solder joint on the extruder top PCB. Raise3D support is sending me a spare cable, but in the mean time I've swapped the right cable with the left cable and it seems to be working alright so far. I wish ...

Re: Retraction amount & extruder-switch

Hm interesting points and thanks for the response. I've mainly switched my right nozzle to 0.6mm so that I can easily swap to composite filled filaments without having to physically change the nozzle. This means that for soluble supports I have to live with 0.6mm, which isn't a big deal. I'll play a...

Re: Inconsistent layer lines on thin wall with holes

I tried slowing the speeds down and still see this. The layer inconsistencies are very repeatable, and always seem to show up on the layers were there are holes/cutouts on the part. So it's likely not some random issue with filament friction, etc. I'm attaching the STL file and .gcode file as well. ...

Inconsistent layer lines on thin wall with holes

I noticed that one some thin wall parts with holes, there are some layer line artifacts. Has anyone encountered this and found a solution? See images attached. My default printing speeds are 70mm/s, but 25mm/s for perimeter layers. I'll try slowing the general speed down to see if that is the issue....
