E2 maintenance?

So I've been printing with a lot of red PETG and have noticed that the rail the heads slide on has a thin layer of orange goo on the stainless facing the front of the box. I ASSUME this is some lubricant that has picked up color from the PETG offgassing. I've been wiping it with IPA, which makes it ...

Well, not as nice as the Prusaslicer way, and pretty ugly from a usability/UI standpoint, but at least I know I can DO this for specific segments of the model now.

Thanks!

Re: Feature Request: Specific Layer Height option

Yes there are areas of models that I want more layer resolution to give a smoother support footprint, or to show much better detail at the top of a model than the middle/bottom. Adaptive layer height is not a good solution for this kind of issue. Prusaslicer does it well with an interactive graph th...

Re: What values should I enter if I use ideaMaker with Prusa i3MK3S+?

Why would you want that? PrusaSlicer kills Ideamaker in the features department and is updated WAY more regularly. I am not happy with PrusaSlicer. Anyway, I need the answers. What don't you like about PrusaSlicer? It's better than Ideamaker in almost any way. I use them both and definitely say Pru...

Feature Request: Specific Layer Height option

The adaptive layer height is a crapshoot in my experience. It sometimes decides to use small layers in areas where it doesn't even seem necessary, while ignoring support tops where it would be very useful. So, adding the ability to change the layer height in zones of the model would be very useful. ...

Re: E2 Camera Fix

I have the prusa mk3 and E2 in my lab at work. I like the prusa and would own 1 personally. but they are not in the same class of printer. E2 is not perfect, but for a prosumer grade, its a value. With a few tweaks, its a workhorse. E2 has Robust enclosure with optional safety feature Idex vs the P...

Re: Max Temperature with Slice Engineering Copperhead on E2?

If you do a copperhead swap, you cannot use the E2 heater, and the 50w Slice one is too much for the E2. You need a 24v 30w 6mm
diameter heater. The charts on Slice's website are wrong, and they're fixing them to reflect this.

Re: Problems with dual estrusion for prototyping.

Dear support team, we have recently purchased the Raise 3D Pro 2 Plus for prototyping our loudspeaker. The problem we came across was, that while using the dual extrusion mode in ‘standby’ there is always a little more filament coming out of the nozzle, even though it´s not printing. Our print take...

After an hour of looking: My Left Extruder is clogged. How do I tell it to use the right extruder for my print? Tim Why not unclog it? Turn up the heat hotter than usual (depends on the material, but if it's PLA, like 250, or if it's PETG 285-290, and select "load" in the utilities. You m...

That heater is 50w/24v - is that still supported by the E2? Also, do you have to custom-crimp the connectors or do the ends that come on it work?

Re: E2 Camera Fix

Why so long between versions when so many fixes are needed? Why not release updates quarterly with whatever can be finished each 90 days until the release is in better shape. I've said it many times, but the $800 PRUSA printers I have feature more updates and better firmware organization and functio...

Re: E2 Hotends oozing

Thanks for the update. Please let us know how the print results turn out. Problem solved. It was loose nozzles (left more than right) from the factory. Removing and re-installing them completely solved the issue. No oozing from the crack in the front of the hotend block anymore on either extruder e...

Re: E2 Hotends oozing

Okay, I decided maybe the nozzle wasn't set completely tight from the factory and the filament was coming out of the top of the nozzle and oozing into the block and out the cracks in the front of the block. So I removed and replaced both nozzles, making sure they were re-installed tight. When I remo...

So the E2 needs a LOOOOOOT of polish to make it the printer I expected for $3500. I'm sure you have bugs or features you'd like to have heard, too. This thread is for that. Bugs & Feature Wishlist: 1. Access to camera controls for gamma/iris/etc in the software to improve image quality without t...

Re: E2 Camera Fix

Is there an ETA for the next version? It's been 4 months. Will the next version also have realtime Z adjust while printing like PRUSAs have?

Now that I think about it, we really need a bug/request thread for the E2. There are so many convenience features it needs or are hard to access and/or bugs.

E2 Hotends oozing

I have two E2s. On the newest one, I was getting a lot of stringing and I couldn't figure it out. I finally decided to try to change the nozzles and when I took off the extruder bezel, it was obvious what was causing the stringing. The vertical "crevices" in the hotend block that have the ...

It's been a while since the last software release. Is there any ETA on the next release that will give better control over the camera iris/gamma settings so we don't have to use the white card trick?
