Re: Printing metal and CF filled filaments

John is right. The Raise3D nozzle is plated not a solid hardened material. Should last longer but how much longer remains to be seen. Going to give these guys a try: 3dsolex.com. They have a new hardened nozzle for the Pro2 (and N2).

Printing metal and CF filled filaments

I was having a hard time getting successful prints with any metal or CF filled filaments on the Pro2 until I switched to a 0.6 mm hardened nozzle. It made a huge difference. For example, I could not get a single print to succeed with GizmoDorks CopperFill until I used the larger diameter now it prin...

Re: Dual-extrusion from new Pro2

In answer to DS2107. I used the Raise3D PLA that came with the printer but with the temp dialed back to 200°. I also increased the retraction distance and speed a bit. The wipe wall is essential in my view even though it adds time. I've started experimenting with soluble supports. That's harder to g...

Re: Solved : overheating , Jams , fail Prints , stuck Pro2

Raise3D and Matterhackers PLA work fine. GizmoDorks Copper which is basically PLA with 5% copper in it fails every time. It softens at a pretty low temperature which would explain it. Also had ColorFabb Copperfill fail but it's nearly 2 years old so I can't be sure of it's condition. Added some 4cm ...

Countdown timer on Pro2

The display on the Pro2 showing how long before the print has finished seems to be based on the time estimated for the print to take place but starts when the hot end/bed warmup begins. If an estimate of the warmup time was added to the print time or the clock wasn't started until the print actually...

Re: Stop heating unused extruder on Pro2

I agree with billbucket. The portion of filament in the Nozzle Lifting System should be free so pulling back some filament by the same amount that the hot end moves should work. At the very least, don't use the same temperature as the active nozzle. That could be a lot higher than the filament in th...

Re: PETG CARBON and petg

Which brand PETG Carbon are you using? I tried colorFabb XT-CF20 in my Pro2 and it jammed after a few minutes. Oddly it jammed in the Pro2's nozzle lifting system which is between the extruder and hot end. It was jammed so badly that I had to remove it with a 1.5 mm drill bit. The filament diameter ...

Re: Trying to add new filament to IdeaMaker

Turns out they are there as well as others but are not visible if you just move up and down the menu with the mouse or trackpad. You need to scroll the menu itself. Two fingers rather than one. I'm using a Mac. Maybe it's more obvious on a PC.

Stop heating unused extruder on Pro2

When only using one extruder the unused one heats up as well. This happens even if the temperature setting for that extruder has been set to zero in the template. All that achieves is some cooked filament and some unnecessary ooze. It also means it takes longer to start a new print because when star...

Trying to add new filament to IdeaMaker

I'm trying to add a new filament to IdeaMaker (V3.1.7.1850). I wanted to add PCTG which is similar to PETG so I exported the PETG profile, changed its name and imported it back again with the aim of modifying to work best on PCTG. The import seems to work however when I go to Manage Templates the ne...

Dual-extrusion from new Pro2

Pleased to find that dual-extrusion prints worked right out of the box albeit with lower temps than in the original PLA templates.
