Re: Four percent shrinkage with PLA?

I 3d print gears and gearboxes. For a .500 inch bore, I print it at .505 and finish it by hand with a .500 reamer. For threaded holes I add 3-4%, print the threads, and run a tap to finish. Always have good results.

Re: How to calibrate / check the E-Steps?

I followed the calibration steps and found the left extruder consistently only used 96 mm (5 trials) I increased the step by 1.04 x 6640 and retested. It extrudes 100 mm, repeatedly. When I print the test cube .2mm layer, 100% infill, there was a very slight concave surface. Should I also chage the ...

Re: 2 year with PRO 2

Been printing two years with a Pro and one year with a Pro Plus. Ditto all the comments. The hot end is a nightmare! I would hope, at some point, Raise3d offers a replacement hotend that is a bolt-on replacement for this nightmare.

Re: Pro2 Plus worth it?

I have had great luck with both a Pro (owned for two years) and a Pro Plus (owned one year). I print regularly in PLA and ABS and have had great success. I have designed in Fusion 360 a number of transmissions, printed gears and assembled them with no issues. Often times, gears are printed on both p...

Re: Printing Issue

Thank you for the explanation and help. The top is lifted on 4 inch spacers, but I will remove it altogether. I will experiment with the support settings for more robust support columns. The Raise PLA paremeters heat the bed 60C. Is there any advantage to running it cooler or not using it at all? Th...

Printing Issue

Looking for troubleshooting help with a print. The model is perfect, except for a broken right arm. I am using the standard PLA - PRO2 settings. .200 mm layer height. After (3) attempts on my PRO2, all with the same results, I transferred the exact same file to my PRO2+. The model prints perfectly. ...

Parts Lists, Schematics, Trouble Codes

When parts are needed, other than spares, customers have to contact tech service, then wait for Sales to email a quote. Most recently, had a bed, no heat issue. The silicone heat pad is bad, I diagnosed it before opening a support ticket. The next day, got a call from Tech Support, "thanks for ...

Re: Better placement of the filament sensor

When I change filament I clip off the old filament at the top of the extruder, then feed the new filament right behind the old one. It is actually a faster process.

Fault Codes added to Manual

The new repair/service manual is well written and easy to follow for all printer service. Can a list of the touch screen fault codes with a failure description be included? This is my last error, Board Error. Error Sensor: T1 Please Check Hardware & Restart Please Go To "Temp Task" to ...

Re: Anyone have a Raise3D printer?

After researching printers for several months I bought a Pro2 last June. Outstanding performance right out of the crate. Supports a wide range of filaments, Idea Maker Slicer is intuitive and easy to learn. Raise support is the best, very helpful with any printing issues that come up. Highly recomme...

I too am having similar problems with high temperature filaments. Are the heat sinks available?
Thanks,

I had the same issue last weekend with PLAS3D PLA filament. Removed the cover and used a #45 drill bit and a small 12 volt B&D drill on slow. Carefully drilled out the plastic.

Re: Filament Stepper Motors very hot - even when not printing with nozzle

I am not having printing issues but find the feed steppers to run very hot. I have printed a cover extender to raise the top cover about 4 inches. Printing ABS and PLA, the feed steppers run between 140 deg F and 150 deg F. Is this typical?
