Re: Comparing Templates

@Vipao, you might try the online compare tool. there you can print the results or save the page. It evens lets you compare multiple profiles at once. https://www.ideamaker.io/compare.html

Re: Bed Graphic in Printer Template

Great. I would vote for a simple overlay, not anything as complicated as a full 3D STL like Cura does.

Re: Print on outer or middle of line?

Hi, Just made a plug to go into the end of a piece of pipe. I made the diameter 0.2mm smaller so that with cooling-shrinkage should have been fine but it was too tight. All 3D printers have a tolerance that you have to account for. I can't speak to Raise3D printers because I don't own one, but for ...

Re: Effects of "First Layer Height"-setting

A saw a discussion from 2016 on why z-offset should be a filament setting rather than a printer setting: https://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=350 Users wanted to adjust z-offset for the different adhesion characteristics between PLA and PETG, for example. From old blog posts and YouTube videos,...

Re: Effects of "First Layer Height"-setting

The discussion at https://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=20463&p=55506 was just too hard for me to follow with so many questions asked at once. But the topic is of great interest to me for dimensional accuracy, and for bed adhesion. I have seen so many YouTube videos and blog posts sa...

Re: Effects of "First Layer Height"-setting

Even though layer height is the same for all subsequent layers (verified in the g-code), the same line segment is generated with an increased extrusion amount (E-number). . I might not understand the question, but I do not see the same result. (I tried digging through your gCode, but it is too hard...

What settings are stored in a .data file?

I know the .data file contains some template information, but it is everything there? ⋅ All settings in the slicer / main template? ⋅ All settings in the slicer / group and layer settings? ⋅ All settings in the slicer / per model extruder? ⋅ All settings in th...

Bed Graphic in Printer Template

My main printer has an odd-shaped worn area near the center that I want to avoid sometimes when placing objects to print. Is is possible in IdeaMaker to have a custom graphic for the bed like in Cura and PrusaSlicer? (I couldn't find anything searching here or in the manual.) I have another printer ...

Re: Where can I quell overzealous notifications?

We will add Do not ask this again option into developing list. If you do add a "do not ask again" feature, please also put something in preferences to turn it back on. MS Windows has famously made some of its options one-way. Once you turn it off, you can never turn it back on. Who knows,...

Vicky, Thanks for explaining that. I have failed many times to put a seam on a flat surface, but the reasoning makes sense.

Re: Precision placement of Z-Seam on single and multiple objects.

Placing the seam is painfull. I am trying every setting to place the seam in my 3d benchy but it get placed in the worst spots. It could be placed better, I hope they will add a better seam hiding or at least a best manual seam positioning. I also struggled with with that annoying seam on the side ...

Re: ideaMaker 4.0.0-Beta Release Notes

Send to Octoprint is a wonderful addition, and the new light theme is great, too. Thanks for moving preferences on the Mac menu, and I can now use pause at height to do filament changes. 4.0 is looking good.

Open in folder?! open in folder? And then you do what ?!? With bin files... sorry, seems useless 4 me. well ok. I'll push "enter" twice then... Your example was for saved gcode. What would you do when you open gcode in a folder? Copy it to an SD card, send it to the printer, upload it to ...

How annoying these pop-ups require additional action! You can make them in the form of a message that pops up and disappears in a couple of seconds. annoying.JPG If they were quickly dismissed, then you would not have a chance to use the "open in finder" button. I use that pretty much eve...

Re: Interface Issue Mac OSX

Yes, please; I would like the preferences menu to be under the IdeaMaker menu. Windows and Mac each have specific locations for preferences (I don't use many Linux apps). For the Mac, it is under the App [IdeaMaker] menu. Here is some developer and user documentation from Apple on the subject: Apple...

Re: Interface Issue Mac OSX

I found how to fix it. I reduced the font size in IdeaMaker preferences. Could not find that before because preferences are in a non-standard place. On the Mac, the preferences menu should be under the IdeaMaker menu and have the shortcut ⌘,
