Re: Raise3D Pro2 Clicking, Stops Extruding, Cold-Side Clogs

I suggest to check the front fan for proper speed. Got the same problems and took a while to recognize a intermittend slowdown of the fan, caused by the fan itself, not the fan‘s control circuit or software settings. It was a slowdown, not a standstill, which made it harder to recognize. This slowdo...

Re: Magnetic holder for extruder fans

Perfect, this will definetely work!! It‘s some efford to set this up, but once done it makes life easier. I would love to have a system which doesn‘t require all this, neither magnet holder nor liquid cooling. Your system with all the big and small improvements rocks, would like to see a long...

Re: Magnetic holder for extruder fans

@JPT good point (s)...i thought about the heat and a solution for clamping the magnets instead of soldering, but after some testing i decided to solder these magnets, for 4 reasons: the construction should be slim it should be lightweight it should have a huge contact area no electrical loss due to ...

Re: Magnetic holder for extruder fans

I ordered a 320gr roll of 3dk top filament, it crystallizes in oven, takes 1 hour and slow cooling to make it heat resistant and more robust (mechanical) . According to the manufacturer it was designed for engine near parts. Looking forward to a test. For the time being :

Re: Liquid cooling for everyone

Great job! The "Ali" cooling unit looks tiny, for shure it will do the job...btw , the tube quick-lock is convenient, but it is to the account of throughput, it reduces the througput by more than 50% - i decided to replace it with standard tube connectors. But even with reduced flow it's m...

Re: Magnetic holder for extruder fans

Ok, i'm curious about the result...3dk top has to be post proccessed in oven, to make it heat resistant. Another idea could be a aluminium heat shield which is wrapped around the 'closer to nozzle' edge

Re: Magnetic holder for extruder fans

The fan housing was slightly deformed after 14h print (Amazon ABS) so ABS is not the best choice for this part. For the holder parts ABS is fine. I will create a adaption to the original housing, then. Alternative to print with 3dktop filament etc. which withstands heat up to 230 Degree.

Re: Magnetic holder for extruder fans

finished both extruder fans. I used brass threads for melting in like https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07CPRHP2X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 M3x4x5 I added aluminium shields 0.5mm to protect the fan housing (i adjusted the fan output nozzle somewhat closer to the hotend) Th...

Re: Magnetic holder for extruder fans

to make the access to the hotends as easy as possible i chose a design which transfers the current through the magnets, so i can take the fans off completely. I used the original fan for this, as it is better than its reputation. Actually i couldn't find any better fan in this dimension. There are f...

Re: Filament door extended Mod

Very good, i like! I‘ve got the same issue with Amazon ABS spools and i‘m going to add a small frame to the original door to add some clearance. Building a new plexiglass door, as you did, is of course much nicer. Why do you have additional Noctua Fans? Good comment in liquid cooling thread, there i...

Re: Liquid cooling for everyone

Great job, looks complex, but tidy up! I try to keep the weight of the cooling for the moment as low as possible @the printhead until i experience problems caused by the extruder temperature, which i didn‘t so far. I can think of extruder problems, which are actually caused downwards by a bad coolin...

Re: Liquid cooling for everyone

So, liquid cooling is up and running. 2x270C @hotend but the throat tube feels........cold. Cold like ex wifes, means: really cold. Thanks a lot to Markus64 and Akoetzle for support, and all the others who contributed to the liquid cooling with their mods and ideas. I chose a different mounting and ...
