Dual-extrusion from new Pro2

Postby NDPG » Tue Jul 17, 2018 5:20 pm

Pleased to find that dual-extrusion prints worked right out of the box albeit with lower temps than in the original PLA templates.

wow that's beautiful. Are these default ideamaker settings or did you tinker at all?

Nice. LOVE that the new Pro series has retracting nozzles. I tried and gave up really fast using dual-extrusion on my N2. My 2nd nozzle kept hitting the build. Never could find that sweet spot. Looks great. I guess I need a Pro2 now. :)

In answer to DS2107. I used the Raise3D PLA that came with the printer but with the temp dialed back to 200°. I also increased the retraction distance and speed a bit. The wipe wall is essential in my view even though it adds time. I've started experimenting with soluble supports. That's harder to get right although you don't have to worry about being able to break the supports away so using denser support structures helps.

Hi.
Wonderful result !
Concerning the parameters what parameter did you use for retractation ?
Because every time i want to do double extrusion i've got some filaments that perturb the print, and the worst is when i use a wipe wall.
I've also saw that for the wipe wall, there's no filament from the nozzle during a few seconds each time.
I've put 40mm/s speed for retracting and 15mm of retractation for nozzle switching.
