Better time counter
Better time counter
After few days of instant print counter reach zero, then recalculate and adding more time... is kind of joke. Last time 4 hours more... You should change it. Each time the same story.

Re: Better time counter
The preheating time will be hard to estimate, because it changes a lot under different using cases.
I have seen one user requested to start counting time after preheating and homing completes, it may help a lot.

I made that request to support. The time counter really isn't that inaccurate. Preheating is not part of the slicer calculation yet the printer includes it in the print time. Doesn't make sense.
Re: Better time counter
Hi
It would be a good idea to begin the counter after the purge because it begins before the preheating and depending on the material the counter is false

Re: Better time counter
Which one you would prefer? To having a separate time counting for heating or just not counting the prepare time cost at all?
Re: Better time counter
The time it takes to preheat the bed and nozzle is always going to vary depending on ambient conditions and such, so why even bother including it in the time counter at all? I think the timer should only include actual printing time.

Agree
Re: Better time counter
But not this way. After 30 hours of printing additional 2 hours?! This is a joke. All the time the same. This is not the time of ambient conditions... or preheating. I have room temp here all time.
Re: Better time counter
Alter 30 hours od printing... new time recalculated... 6 hours more...
Re: Better time counter
Ok, this is simple to understand. At the start, the software calculates the time of print. And don't do it anymore to the end. So, maybe a good idea is to calculate it again a few times more at printing time? For example for 10%, 20% etc.? The issue is the efficiency of tablet PC panel at the printer. Huge models need the real computer for it. I'm right or wrong?
Re: Better time counter
Printer software only counts G-code lines in times. Other words layers. So this kind of time counting never will be precise. Is not possible. One time layer is big and complicated other simple and small.
Re: Better time counter
Average error is 40% could you do something with that? Add retraction Z-hop and more data to prepare time of print with bigger precision?
