Fortnite Battle Bus

Postby robpauza » Sat Apr 07, 2018 2:20 pm

Hi guys,

Here's another project I just finished on my trusty Raise3d N2 printer. It's the "Battle Bus" from the game Fortnite. I modeled it in Lightwave 3D and printed the parts with eSun PLA. I had the top part printed in resin at Shapeways. (can see in last photo)

If anyone's interested, I uploaded the model on Thingiverse and Pinshape for FREE download.

Also, I made a complete build video on my YouTube channel:

Thanks for looking!

-Rob

Thanks Vicky! I appreciate it. I know it's a weird vehicle, but sort of weird/cool. :)

I printed with eSun PLA+

225 C / 40 C bed
.1mm layers
22%ish infill for most parts, but the smaller, structural parts that needed strength I used 85% infill. The hose is the only thing that needed supports and the top framework thing was sent to Shapeways and printed in resin.

Watching the video, your hands are super shaky - Just like mine - and you still put together an impressive model.

Really Very Impressive detail work.

Very impressive, ROBPAUZA!

Haha, yeah, I noticed that too watching the video. I think it's a combo of getting old and trying to do things at awkward angles for the camera. :) Thanks for the compliments!

Fortnite Battle Bus

Postby Donatosnog » Wed Aug 08, 2018 2:23 pm

I am planing on putting this bus on axle stands, but I do not know the weight of the vehicle. What does a bus like this weigh? and what size/weight rated stands are safe to use?

That's kind of a hard question to answer since it depends on your print settings. I printed mine with around 22-25% infill average I'm guessing. I just attempted to weigh it for you, but my small scale only goes up to 18oz and it didn't register on my bathroom scale. I would guess mine is about 1.5 pounds as you see it in the photos. I have absolutely no idea about the stands you're talking about.

Hope this was somewhat helpful.
