Bouncing or jumping during infill

Postby OncologyEngineer » Mon Jul 02, 2018 5:28 am

Hi All,
I did a search and surpised this hasn't been raised (or I can't find it).
When I print an item with say, 20% infill, the outside is smooth and sweet but during the infill portion it's like the extruder is being dragged across the perpendicular infill lines and the sound is like it's rapidly being pulled over them as well. I suspect it's an easy fix but can't think what. I did have a thin print a week ago that it caused a layer shift.
As always thanks,

I may not have the completely correct answer but I suspect that the flow rate for your infill is too high - so the infill walls are a little taller than the actual level the head is expecting to print at.

I have had the same problem many times but always got past it by decreasing the infill flow rate a little

Hi MDVolle,
Thanks for that and it makes sense that it could be the culprit. I'll give it a go, dropping the flow 2% and see what happens.
