Group and Layer Ideology

Postby alko » Wed Mar 14, 2018 8:26 am

Hello everyone!
I missed 2 last versions of IM and only yesturday start to use it. The new improvments are great, but have a problem.
Spend some hours trying to understand the logic and ideology of this new addon.

Of corse I read the explanations in this files (hided somewhere in discussions

But anyway have a questions.
what's the main idea, what can I do with this settings? What special tecnics and advantages prior to usual profiles?

For instance, If I have 2 models (stl)
- can I config different layer heigh for each other?
- can I sort models by templates? (to remember which setting I used and easily assign another more succesful template from other model)?

And so on.
So tell me please about tecnics how to use it.
Thanks.

- The new options can help you assign different print settings for different models which are printed at the same time and can help you assign different print settings for different height of different structures on one model.

- can I config different layer heigh for each other?
- Yes.

- The per-group and per-layer settings are only for settings not for the whole print template.

Ок, begin to understand, played a lot with settings.
So, the main reason is to use different height for different areas of models as I see.

And the question:
If I print 2 models with support (the 2-nd extruder) the same time....

I. 0.1 height
1 layer - 0.3
+ 0.1 = 0.4
+ 0.1 =0.5
+ 0.1=0.6
+ 0.1=0,7
+ 0.1=0,8
+ 0.1=0,9
+ 0.1=1,0
+ 0.1=0,9
...and so on

II 0.25 height
1 layer - 0.3
+ 0,25 = 0.55
+ 0,25 =0.8
+ 0,25= 1.05
+ 0,25=1,3mm
...and so on

How does the extruder avoid crashing - it counts itself, or... what should be the tecnic?
More Z-hop? distance between models? Any other settings?

The build plate will drop down one by one based on all the height it needs to go.

Use you list as an example:
I. 0.1 height
1 layer - 0.3
+ 0.1 = 0.4
+ 0.1 =0.5
+ 0.1=0.6
+ 0.1=0,7
+ 0.1=0,8
+ 0.1=0,9
+ 0.1=1,0
+ 0.1=0,9
...and so on

II 0.25 height
1 layer - 0.3
+ 0,25 = 0.55
+ 0,25 =0.8
+ 0,25= 1.05
+ 0,25=1,3mm

The bed will move from 0.3 - 0.4 - 0.5 - 0.55 - 0.6- 0.7 - 0.8 - 0.9 - 1.0 - 1.05 - 1.1
