computer issues

Postby firesped » Wed Jan 18, 2017 6:38 am

my computer was having some troubles and I messed some things up.

unfortunetly the result is a mass file lose. fortunately I have some backups in other places of some of my more critical 3d model works.

the work on the RC firmware disapeared from the harddrive but I have the backup on github.

the most recent work on my new blower fan mount is gone. I may have completely lost the files containing my extruder models. which means I only have the earlier renditions of it I uploaded to thingiverse.

I have to see what I backed up on the other computer.

the work on my water cooling block is gone but that is fine, it didn't really work and I have a new solution, I just need to make it. if the idea I have works, it will work for everyone.

The idea is to have the blower fan mounted on the outside of the door, pulling air from a directed path at the bottom of the chamber through the door. then it will have tunnels routing the air up to blow it directly down on to the steppers drivers. allowing for better cooling of all the stepper drivers.

I have managed to recover most of the files. actually, most of the files ever deleted from the drive as well.

It looks like i have recovered the sketchup file with my blower fan mount and extruder head as well.

Hello
interesting to make your own WBs
i was interested to make my one in DELRIN but too complicated to wave it and be sure of the limit of pressure
too much problems

So about my rig:
Xeon 2699v4 (44 threads@2,8GHz) + 2 titan X, 128GB and a SM961
everything watercooled of course (28°C) in benchmarking the 44 threads with the room at 24°C it is awesome!
and under mac os X of course

the system was during the mounting so sorry for the colson and the scotch now it is much better

results:
2nd on LuxMark test, known like terrible for calculation, (first on C++ mono cpu) and many others scores on the first places!
:D

(virtual reality, mixed reality and photogrammetry 3D) ;)

NRHK excellent build, I like the white tubing. I worry about the WB not being metal but maybe a metal fill would be adequate. Can't wait to hear the results of this. My latest I5 2500k OC's to 4.8 GHz on air with just a cheap upgrade cooler that'll handle 2 fans so My radiator is sitting dry! Used to buy all my stuff from a great company called DangerDen, but they went out of business.

Thx very much Walshlg
it was long to obtain this hackintosh fully reliable and 4,5 times more powerful than the one sold on Apple store
(many many lines of code to modify)

* What do you mean about "being worry of WB not being metal"?
i thought that it was only for the top not the complete one (the best is copper and nickel plate)

* i know very very well dangerden and all the stuff of this period, it was the time i worked on waterchiller (the coolant at -20°C) and big momma rads :)
and i had plenty of W. records with Pentium 4C
i join to this post the chiller,, so cold that the tube have ice in 3 mins!

today i work exclusively with EK-WB which is the best value and an aquaero to manage everything!

I thought to buy a 6950x and OC it at 4,4GHz, but in term of reliability: Xeon 2699 V4 is much better,
but the price is not the same
i have a contact to buy it in second hand very cheap (OEM)

* About the tubing they are transparent the liquid is white (like milk) based on nano-particles
and hard tube it is too difficult when you are maniac as me: everything needs to be perfect and it is pretty stressing :)
