Delrin filament (POM)

Postby Mecha_Monster » Fri Nov 11, 2016 11:44 pm

Hello,

I stumbled on POM filament (a.k.a Delrin when manufactured by DuPont). This material may be the holy grail for figs and fixture manufacturing (extensively used for machined parts) , but I know that POM emits toxic fumes when melted, and I haven't read about anyone that had use it. What are your thoughts about it? Should I give it a try?

I've read that POM warps really wicked and doesn't stick to much. I love machining Delrin on my mill/lathe.

Delrin filament was pulled from the market several years ago.
