Variable Layer Height

Postby Docmani » Tue Mar 14, 2017 11:44 am

I've been seeing various implementation of Variable Layer Height. It keeps a balance between thin layer heights for detailed areas (like curves in the Z direction) while allowing for thicker heights for printing speed in less detailed areas.

I would love to see this in IdeaMaker! ... -printers/ ... er-height/

Its recently been released in Slic3r.

Me too. Even if it was fairly basic and just had a swap over height you could specify. A lot of my stuff is detailed on the top and just filler at the bottom to give it shape.

Even better would be a layer height for infill, and a layer height for perimeters :)

That may be a little complex to have different thickness at one height. Unless the heights are double or triple or multiplied.
