Big spool Mod

Postby 3d4you » Mon Mar 06, 2017 8:38 pm

As we all know the huge n2plus cannot print from large spools out of the box. So what is your Mod? I want to modIfy my N2 plus for big spools now. Thinking of drill 2 holes at the back side and putting little guiding tubes there like they are on the side.

I think putting the spools out of the printer will be good as the filament does not get soft when buildplate is >100°C

Please tell me how you did

I mounted a wall on the wall and put the spools above with guide tube only near the spool, printing without the lid on

Any more ideas? Printing without the lid is no option, as it only works with PLA

sorry about the typo : I have a 1 inch dia rod mounted on the wall behind the printer. I use 3mmID ptfe tubing and you can just run that through a hole in the top. One bit of advice - I had the guide tubing bind as the print head moves around so I inserted even more so it can make a complete loop inside the cover, that helps a lot.
