Mazinger Z

Postby Mecha_Monster » Tue Jan 16, 2018 4:17 pm

Hello,

Quick project. I printed one of my favorites characters of my childhood; Mazinger Z. A 400mm tall robot. eSun silver PLA, and painted with acrylic paints (those small bottles that you can get at wallmart for 76c each).
eSUN PLA is a very good cheap/good-looking option, but still Hatchbox PLA is superior (IMHO).
Due to the total size of the robot and to keep the printing time as low as possible. I printed at .25mm layer height and quite fast; then I coated all the robot with wood filler and then sanded the pieces; the results are better than sanding the PLA right away.

No idea Vicky, i have been out of the loop for quite long time.
By the way, the robot is still missing an important part; inside of the head goes a small airplane, that due to its size and thin details have been difficult to print. I will post it when I manage to get a successful print.

Seems almost impossible to print out that plane properly with this size.
