Warp Core/Game Room deco

Postby bellatrixzen » Mon Nov 13, 2017 3:03 pm

I have always wanted a game room/home arcade in my house. I finally was able to "get started" on it.
Thought I would post some pictures as I have used the Raise3D N2+ to print all of the sci-fi or arcade decorations in the room.

These are all just arcade oriented items, all available on thingiverse:

Can't forget about the facehugger from the Alien movies :)

My favorite piece is this Star Trek Warp Core lamp. This is the remodeled hi-res version also on thingiverse that I have scaled up 275% and printed on the Raise. Here are a couple of pics of the pieces and LED track support along with a video of it running (if it embeds correctly):

Here is the video:

It is all supported with aluminum tubing and steel threaded rod secured with a silicone adhesive.
.2mm layers, All PLA, total print time of 374 hours not including a couple fails.

Still a work in progress, but thought I would share :)

That is a really cool print you are making, one lamp I have always wanted to try and make was from Star Gate SG1 ZPM. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

Wow! That's impressive.
How did you do the light sequencing?

@woofy
I used two LED strips I bought on Amazon : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074TDLXPT/re ... UTF8&psc=1

Each strip has a "universal" remote that can be paired to control only one strip, so I can change the patterns of the LED's individually.
There are 366 different modes supposedly. All I know is it took quite a while to go through the modes to find the one I wanted.

Only bummer is, those remotes actually change the lights in my R3D printer upstairs and also the bar lighting in the game room also. Not the same brand or type of LED strips, but the receiver/controllers still see those remotes anyway.
