Webcam

Postby jerteach » Sat Apr 08, 2017 3:56 pm

After I purchased my N2 I found out that I could have gotten a webcam with it. I wish I had, but I was pushing the budget anyway.

Here is an image of my webcam holder. The webcam is a SLICK PC webcam which cost $3.00 CDN at a dollar store. Unfortunately I could only find it for $8.79 US on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Slick-Products-CA505-PC-Webcam/dp/B00HXB73WC

The other image is of the position of the webcam. I am setting up another webcam to view the Information panel and the amount of remaining filament. The interesting device above the Tinkerine printer is my classroom overhead projector cam.

I also have a D-Link WiFi Smart Plug about $50 CDN http://ca.dlink.com/home-solutions/connected-home/ which allows me to shutdown the printer if my webcam shows any problems. With my Tinkerine the build would have been lost, but with the Raise3D N2 I can then restart the build when I return and determine if I can save it.

The Raise online feature would be better than the Smart Plug but I am still not sure if I want my printer fully online. I can see myself starting a new print before clearing off the old one :o

You design the holder and print it with 3D printer?
Would you like to share your design here? Maybe someone else also has the same camera as yours.

Yes I printed it on the N2 just after running 3DBenchy and a few other tests. Here is the stl file.

I should put my work on http://www.thingiverse but I am really busy teaching Robotics and learning about Neural Networks.

P.S. I am really enjoying the N2. So far it has been a great experience.
