If I start doing more of these, will invest in an airbrush kit.

Filament: pla Filaments.ca
Resolution:0.2
Print bed temp: 60
Nozzle temp: 200
Time: 28hrs

This thing is creepy

OMG! Can't believe it is a printed part!

So it was printed to be red?
Would you like to share more about post finish?

Thank you Vicky....

This was a single extrusion print in white PLA.
I did not polish it because I believe it takes away from the realistic appearance of the alien creature.
I would have far better results if I airbrushed it. I only used standard Acrylic Laquer paint you find in any hardware store. There was a little bit of gluing required and used a standard glue gun for that. Again, it seemed to bond the pieces well.

Nice shot!

Yours looks much vivid than the origin post.

That is really nice! I have been wanting to try printing that one myself. Any other tips?

Thanks.
No other tips other than the settings above.

I was actually able to fit ALOT of the pieces on a single print bed.... I did however scale it down to 80%...as you can see it still turned out to be an acceptable size:)

I'm going to try one myself, doing all the parts at full size means three batches. I didn't think of scaling down, that's a clever idea especially as it still looks an excellent size.

That is so cool.
I guess I'm not the only one that has a soft spot for Alien... Great movie!

I finished assembling mine! It's not painted yet but looks really good.

The body and tail were printed at 0.2mm height with default 0.4mm nozzle, but I printed the rest of the parts raftless at 0.4mm layers with 0.8mm nozzle and printing goes much, much faster and with less waste. Obviously the pieces are not nearly as smooth but I'm going to see what it looks like after it's painted. I think it might be just fine!
