standoffs for motors to limit heat transfer to print head

so i designed some small spacers to place on the screws between the feed motors and the print head in order to limit heat transfer to the print head and prevent some softer materials from getting too hot and destroyed by the feed gear. I recommend printing them with ABS, or a heat resistant PLA (I used ABS). it took me about 3 minutes to print 8 of them (4 per motor).

Have you tested it with filament which has problem when loading due to heat? What's the result?

How do you stop the heat from traveling down the motor shaft directly into the feed gear that is coming slowly into direct contact with the plastic and lingering in the close proximity as it is pushed into and retracted back as layers and jumps are made having plenty of time to soften the material and grinding out.

my driver for that motor is currently broken, i should be getting a replacement in a few days, and I will update then.

it doesn't do anything about that, but it should keep the rest of the assembly cooler so maybe it won't have time to reach a high enough temperature to fail? that is just my hope.

Without the heat sink of the extruder, motor temperature could easily increase. Might want to add heat sinks to the back side of the motors.

how would I go about attaching them? what material would be both sticky enough and conduct heat properly?
