Motherboard fan to loud?

Postby Allan Sche Sar » Thu May 31, 2018 8:11 am

He there,

I think my Raise3D N1 is to loud. I check some other N1 printers and there are quiter.
In this video you get a little feeling about the noises

https://youtu.be/Vr20f0DWgv4?t=33s

I think this is not correct. The noises comes from the radial fan on the mother board.
There are a spare part available?

Thanks for this Link Jetguy, but I read in these, that is a risk to skip 1 step. That is not that, what i prefer. No other things necessary to reduce the sounds?

@Korni: Ja ich bin ein deutscher Nutzer, der wieder zurück auf die englische Firmware gegangen ist, da die deutsche Firmware sich nicht vollständig lesen lässt.

The risk of skipped steps is just something said back then when first making the modification. Been running for 2+ years that way and never one skipped step related to cooling. Dozens of other users have done the same mod.

Again, please understand, my N1 is my most reliable bulletproof printer. I've printed print objects longer than 24 hours continuous with this mod in place just days after first getting the printer. Here is a short list of projects printed on the N1 and some parts took over 38 hours for a single part. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=814&p=7711&hilit=arm#p7711

okay. Than I order the parts and test the modification.

There is no official modification from Raise available or better solution to buy?

Well, your other next modifications are:
Brace the Z stage

download/file.php?id=4517&mode=view and viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2150&p=22160&hilit=n1+upgrades#p16464

Remove the over constraint on the Z stag

Mind the gap- viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1720

Put on a Bondtech feeder- http://shop.bondtech.se/en/upgrade-kits ... grade.html

Replace the stock arching cable flex tube with something nicer and do a custom attachment to mate with the Bondtech

Insulate your hotend heater block or when they release it, get the silicone sock version.

Then also don't forget to do the SD2224 stepper driver upgrade for XY steppers. (ignore the title of that topic it started with TMC2130)

The bondtech extruder is not possible for me because I need the dual extrusion.
Thanks for your help.

There is a dual extruder version- so that means it is possible.
http://shop.bondtech.se/en/upgrade-kits ... grade.html

Just understand why that is not listing the N1- it's all because the N1 does not use the cable chain wire guide that is on the N2 series.
I just showed that you really probably should take the time anyway, inspect the factory flex tube wire guide, I used flex loom and a nylon 1/4 inch water tubing to stiffen the arch and limit bend radius, and use my own method (cable ties) around the motor.

If I say it fits, it fits. I have nothing to gain by telling you wrong. I have the dual extruder version right here.
Look, literally installed in place of the single.

Again, here is literally a fellow user (Squenz) with an N1 using daily the Bondtech dual Extruder upgrade. These pictures posted in December, so that makes this 6 months of usage.
He is also in Germany

Just a silly thought, but perhaps one of you could contact Martin Bondeus (the manufacturer) and ask him?
