Agree, this is crazy! Luckily we haven't had an issue yet but we were aware of it before our purchase. This was one of the many items / issues that swayed us towards purchasing a N2 Plus instead of the Pro2 Plus since the N2 was open source and had better user support in resolving issues. From what I understand the Pro2 series has the same touchscreen so they are probably going to have the same issues.
I have read this is a VERY common issue and I heard Raise3D sells a very expensive replacement. For how common it is I would say $450 is quite expensive. However, if you have some mechanical / electrical skills you can get an equivalent replacement a LOT cheaper. Read more here:
