N2 Touchscreen not reacting to touch on it's left side

Hi there!

I just wanted to print something on my N2 V2 but the touchscreen seems do ignore the touch input on it's left side. At first I thought the firmware was maybe doing something strange, so I updated to the latest version. Still the behaviour is the same: The display won't react on any button that is on the left side of the screen.

What can I do? Are there any wires I can check or does the display have to be changed? :cry:

Have you ever tried with wired mouse to control the unresponsed areas? Or remote control from ideaMaker to confirm whether the functions of those unresponsed areas can still work or not.

Hi there
i have the same problem.

The sreen is not broken, it works with a usb-mouse, but on the left side it is impossible to make an input.
What is to do?

It might be highly likely some hardware issue for the touching function. Which means it is still a broken screen.

Mine has started to become unresponsive on left side also :(

Hey Vicky, opened a ticket 6 days ago now, no response.

Pretty disappointing really, a 2.5k machine but you can't get any support or repair parts? 2.5k, that's a lot of money for something you cannot fix because a few poor quality components fail after a year or so.

I have the same problem too. My touchscreen doesn't react from left side 1cm.

Hi i have the exacly same problem like McLN, i am from germany, my reseller told me that i have to replace the touch Screen, cost about 500€.
My printer is 13 month old.... an i am a bit disapointed.... the reseller dont change the screen on guarantee...

500 euros for that awful cheapo touchscreen? He's totally trying it on.

At least you've got a reply though, I'm currently being given the runaround between Raise3d and the UK. It's really quite terrible, the hardware is clearly faulty to begin with.

Good news Pro owners, you have the same awful touchscreen too.

hi,
I bought my N2+ early November 2017 and I had the same problem so, now, it is a well known problem.
It took THREE weeks before the printer was replaced ! (but the problem occurred very quickly after the purchase)
I believe that if it happens again I will not get any more help and if I get help I will not have a printer for months!

I have the same issue. Contacted support and they quoted me $450 for a new touch screen. Like others said, it works with a mouse. How something like this is not covered by an extended warranty when so many people are reporting the issue is beyond me.

Have noticed a tendancy for the touch screen to stop working after a while on an N2 Dual. Resetting it gets it working again but why does it stop working in the first place. Have tried taking off shows and socks, its on a thick wooded coffee table, on lino if that helps work things out earth wise

Agree, this is crazy! Luckily we haven't had an issue yet but we were aware of it before our purchase. This was one of the many items / issues that swayed us towards purchasing a N2 Plus instead of the Pro2 Plus since the N2 was open source and had better user support in resolving issues. From what I understand the Pro2 series has the same touchscreen so they are probably going to have the same issues.

I have read this is a VERY common issue and I heard Raise3D sells a very expensive replacement. For how common it is I would say $450 is quite expensive. However, if you have some mechanical / electrical skills you can get an equivalent replacement a LOT cheaper. Read more here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=9857&p=33968&hilit=touchscreen#p33968
