Printer does not start, touchscreen stays dark

Postby 3d_printer_fan » Thu Mar 01, 2018 7:40 am

Hi @All

Our N2 printer does not start anymore and there is no network connection possible.
I have already tried to connect the pins showing in this http://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=414 but it did not help.
The fan is working properly...
Any ideas? The printer works fine since a year now.
I guess there is something missing for the boot procedure?

Is it possible to re-install the factory firmware?

Thanks, Matten

Mine does this periodically. I turn it off, open up the screen box (3x screws inside the right of the front door and 4x screws on back of screen box) disconnect the battery then turn it back on, then re-connect the battery. I don't know why this works but I had some issues when I first received my machine and this is one of the things that I was asked to do. Hope it helps.

Does not work...
Can I install a new firmware without using the screen?
I mean by connecting the USB cable directly to the board? Which port?

No, this is the pcDuino based mini linux computer based on the Acadia. No, you cannot re-image the EMMC storage by plugging in over USB without the developer tools by NXP, and then that would be the generic linux image, not the Raise 3D specific image with software. Also, you definitely do not plug into a host port to host port from your PC (the ones you highlighted in your picture are host ports). The OTG (On The Go) port is the mini USB connector at the other end of the board. Again, no you cannot flash firmware to this board, we do not have the entire linux image to reimage it, that's not the way it would be done anyway.

You best contact support because it's HIGHLY unlikely that it's the image, if the screen is dark, this is not booting or trying to boot. Either a power issue or you somehow managed to kill the board.

I had a bad board on a replacement screen a few weeks ago, the only solution was another replacement screen. That screen would turn on the backlight but nothing further would happen, I tried disconnecting the battery but that didn't fix the problem either. You probably have a bad board like Jetguy said.

Thanks for your input, you are right!
The screen box is replaced now and everything works well.

I'm having the same issue. N2 Plus is just over 3 months old and the screen is black; can't get it to start up. Pretty sad because I submitted a support ticket 8 days ago and still haven't gotten any help/insight from Raise3d...no response what so ever. Barely have three spools of filament through it and now I apparently have a large and heavy paperweight.

So sorry for the late reply. Would you like to advise the ticket number of your support ticket? Will ask the support team to help follow up and make contact with you as soon as possible.
