Screen stuck on pausing print after attempting to change filament.

Postby dmccoy » Sat Jan 20, 2018 9:59 pm

I'm in the middle of a big print on the N2 Plus, I paused the print so that I could put a full spool on the printer. It paused quickly and went to it's homing position but the screen is stuck on the loading screen "Pausing Print...." But it's been paused for a while. The screen isn't entirely frozen because I can click on other tabs but if I select a function it'll say "Another file is printing, please wait"

I want to try rebooting the printer and use the recover print function but I don't want ruin an 100 hour print that halfway complete..Any Suggestions?

Thanks

As long as the battery of the screen has full power, the recovery should can work properly in most cases. After power off, wait the screen goes totally black, the power on again. During power off progress, the screen will show message about "dump file saved completed."
After this print completed, please try the latest touchscreen firmware on our website. I remember that we have debugged some pause problems before, but am not 100% sure whether it helps your problem or not. Please update the result with me.

Hello Vicky

This has now happened to my twice in a row and I’ve lost my prints.

But it used to work. I’ve done it a hundred times.

I pause the print to change the reel that’s run out. Now it just freezes.

Recovery doesn’t kick in

My screen is the latest firmware

Any ideas?

Also my motion controller board firmware is not the latest.

But not sure why it matters because it worked before?

We are developing a new firmware which can read more detailed serial ports feedback. Once we finished that, would like to ask your help to load it into your screen to get more information when stuck for us to analysis the root cause.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Vicky

I can help. But it still doesn't explain why it's freezing when it worked beautifully before?

By now, we are not 100% sure whether it is due to software or hardware based on the current information we can export from the log.

Hey Vicky!

I think I figured this out.

I was pressing ‘pause/stop’ and then waiting a few minutes for the right moment to actually press pause. It would freeze.

But if I press ‘pause/stop’ and immediately press pause it works flawlessly. I’ve tried multiple times with the same result.

Thanks for your update. We will check whether the code flow has any difference between these two operations.
