Hinge for top cover, available for purchase

Postby GWC » Fri Jan 19, 2018 11:19 pm

Hello my fellow Raisers.

At Inspirenovations, we’ve been working hard to develop a cover hinge system for the Raise 3D printers. We have spent approx. 200 hours and numerous hinge design print permutations, analysis and we have finally designed a hinge system for the Raise 3D N2 Printer family.

Hinge system will hold the cover in position. As you lift the cover it will maintain its position. Plus, you can mount the hinges at the back, left or right side. This allows the User to select the optimal hinge placement based on available office space.

No hole drilling is required!

If interested, please email me at gwc@inspirenovations.com.

Cost for full hinge kit with installation instructions is $89.00.

Upgrade kit with Handles, $24.95

Handles are nice so you don’t touch the acrylic cover, no more finger prints.

Upgrade kit for tool rack that mounts to the hinge mounts, you can place Allen wrenches, nozzles, nozzle clean out rod, crescent wrench, painters knife, cleaning rag, etc, $49.95, includes handles for cover as well.

Hope to hear from you soon.

A question: will it hold the top up while open just an inch or two? In what range of angles will it hold the cover up?

Yes, it will hold up the top, very close to 1” to 2”.

In theory it is infite position from 0, closed position to 110 full open.

Duty cycle is 20,000.

Pictures would make a world of a difference on who would be interested for security purposes.

Here is what I did to my N2+.
I cut 4 cheap wooden dowels to length and drilled and screwed them to the inside corners of the cover lifting it an appropriate amount to clear the filament tubes.

Then I took the package material that the cover came in (styrafoam) and cut out the bottom making a perfect slide over gap filler.

With the gap filler down I get a nice toasty warm chamber for those ABS prints.

And I can slide it up for access to the extruders and filament tubes.

If I want to print PLA just slide it up to the top and turn a little to rest on top for those long cool prints.

Cheap and easy, I'm all over that! :D

Pictures would make a world of a difference on who would be interested...

Until we see a good set of pictures, there is no product offering. The lack of images, brand-new poster, anonymous (misspelled) email, etc. is starting to seem a little shady to me. And, of course, posting a few pix takes what? Maybe 10 minutes? 15?

I will send you some information on the hinge later today.

I received nothing in the last four days.

BTW, I'm only ragging on this because I'd really like to find such a product, but it sounds like this one got (sort of) announced a few weeks early, before any consideration of how to actually market or sell it.

That's a nice upgrade - if you would call it that. ;)

sounds good - I agree some pics would be nice... I am sure it is great but we all have differing set ups...

Look forward!
