EMI shielding mod?

Postby firesped » Tue Jan 09, 2018 3:00 am

I was just trying to upload some files to my printer with the heated bed running and it occured to me that perhaps some of the issues with the network connectivity and possible also the USB serial connection are that the non protected power lines are putting out too much EMI (electro magnetic interference) that are causing issues with the data transmissions.

so the thought would be to add Metal Braided Shielding/EMI Sleeving over the USB and ethernet cables to help protect those from the EMI.

edit: looking up information on shielded cables. Induction Heating also is a source of EMI.
