I have zero interest in dual extrusion on the N2, but I would really like to add the single BMG and pancake motor. Any plans on making a kit for the N2 for that configuration?

I am a bit the same, I have already bought 4 of these for my machines, and I would like to upgrade all 4 of them again to this, want to have a good crack at printing support with PVA.

I sent you an email Martin but i also add a comment here :

- as johnsays and brad say "any discount" for previous customers ?

- but also the major fact for me is the same request as SteveWallin, as i cool the back of the stock motor, i lost 3.5cm of room at the back of the printer and this pancake motor could allow me to get the full building area again (+ wieght improvement again)

Hi, sorry for the late reply (been busy with family business). We will try also to offer an upgrade package for those who has bought the Hybrid kit in order to reuse as many parts as possible, the assembly process is a bit tricky but we will also provide an instruction video for the assembly.

Have a great evening!

While I wait for this extruder for my N2, I am curious if anyone has ever used the Bondtech gear set in their own custom extruder? How did it turn it out? You can PM me if you would like. Thank you.

I haven't been using dual extrusion much. Mostly I just keep my Bowden on PLA, and I've been too busy printing production to tinker around much... but it looks like my summer project is going to be bondtech 2.0. Even though I feel like I haven't really gotten the most out of my first bondtech upgrade, I'm really excited about this one.

Martin just sent me this picture this morning that production assembly of the dual BMG is in place. Get your orders in, these are pretty amazing.

Just like the previous versions, the housing are SLS printed nylon, high precision ball bearings are used on the reduction axles and the finest ground and machined shafts are used. Truly a work of art to interface these 2 extruders into such a nice and compact mechanism specifically tailored and tested with the Raise 3D printer series.

I will be posting more testing this weekend as I just got back from travel for work.
I also intend to show what the pushing force of the stock Raise 3D extruder is compared to the various upgrade options out there.
I'm duplicating the testing rig by Eric Lien. I will place the stock extruder and then the various upgrades that have been posted in the group as a comparison to really better show you the benefits of the upgrade. In addition I have various materials to test during the comparison (ninjflex, semiflex, PETG, ABS, Nylon, PLA, and others).

Is there a single extruder version? Or is it possible to remove the second motor to make it even lighter?

So 200$ for extruder without pancake steppers, right? Hmm a bit steep price. What would be a "full kit" with pancakes? Not sure if I need the PTFE tubes though..

EDIT:
Please Maritn (Bondtech) do clarify a bit a text on the prduct page:
"This product uses lightweight Nema17 Pancake steppermotors combined with a 3:1 internal gearing ratio and our proven DualDrive gears."

I would understand that in the price the pancakes are already there. But further down the page:
Kit contains everything you need to rebuild your printer.

1 x DualDirect extruder
2 x 0.7 m PTFE 4/2 mm guide tube
1 x Breakout board cover

So this got me thinking :? ...are motors actually part of the extruder or not?

Cheers,D

@Bondtech
Ehhh khm. sorry for bothering... Are you sure about the weight numbers? On your website it says;
"Original extruder setup on Raise3D is 890g this new upgrade is 425g and it affects the performance a lot."
(http://shop.bondtech.se/ec/upgrade-kits ... grade.html)
So If I get this right... the stock setup with the usual steppers is 890g, right?! While with a new Bondtechs' setup, but with the same old steppers we get 425g? Is that right? I kind of a doubt it... You probably forgot to say that those 425g are achieved with the "optional" (?) pancake motors, right?
Please correct me if I'm missing something.

Hi John, the assembly process of this new extrudersetup is a bit tricky and we must do a guide before we are able to release the kit without the gears that will allow you to use your existing gears.

I am aiming for doing it this week but we are currently overloaded with work so it might take another week.

The right side can of course be emptly of components that would make it a single version (left hotend occupied).
How big interest is it for a single version?
