Display problem with Ubuntu 16.04 and ideaMaker 3.1.7 64-bit

Postby twgray » Fri Jun 29, 2018 12:34 am

I just installed the latest 3.1.7 64-bit .deb package on my Ubuntu 16.04LTS system. I am experiencing problems with truncated dialog box name fields as well as missing tabs; specifically in advanced profile edit screen the last three tabs are missing completely and can't be displayed since I cannot resize the edit window. Is this a known problem or should I register a bug with detailed screen shots?

I really want to love this slicer since I have heard so many great things about it but it is completely unusable on my system.

Thanks for your time.

It will be perfect if you'd like to share a screenshot of the issue you meet with us.

Hi, I have the same problem. I always prefer to use your great slicer, but since I switched to Ubuntu (18.04 LS), I have to visualise the resulted G-code in the "C..." slicer, as for the preview looks like it doubled Z-heights and garbled the view?! (see Screenshot) :(
All other slicers under Ubuntu work, except my favourite Ideamaker
I do hope you can find the solution.

Thanks,

Would you like to advise the following information:
1. The type of your GPU
2. Resolution of your monitor
3. Version number of your Ubuntu system

I was so happy to see the new 3.3.0 update features and bug fixes, and most of all : 71. Fixed display issue under High-DPI display at Linux system.!!
Unfortunately it is still not displaying properly on my screen after the update?! (see above for my specs)

A bit of a bummer as I now still have to use other softs to preview or slice :-( Ideamaker is my favorite slicer though) Or maybe I have missed something and it can be easily fixed?

:) I think you might be. I am using the latest IdeaMaker on Ubuntu 16.04 on an Acer i5 laptop. The visuals are perfect. I will try on another Ubuntu PC I have and see if that is OK.

Nope, old Surface Pro-2 with i5 is fine too.

Might be something to do with your Linux graphics drivers?
