ideaMaker 2.2.3 Release Note 2016.8.25

Postby Vicky@Raise3D » Thu Aug 25, 2016 9:20 am

Hi all,

We have released the ideaMaker 2.2.3 yesterday
Quick link: ideaMaker 2.2.3 https://www.raise3d.com/pages/download

NEW FEATURES

Added manual support
We have custom support in this version. There is a quick Support button on Tool Bar.
You can choose Create Auto Supports or Add Manual Supports as you like. Or you can let ideaMaker generate auto supports first, then Add or Remove a support or Edit the support’s start point or height.

Added custom support infill angle
We’ve added support infill angle settings in ideaMaker. You can set several values in Advanced Setting -> Support -> Interlaced Support Infill Angle and ideaMaker will alternate with the sequence you set. That means if the automatically supports are not generated as much as you need, you don’t need to adjust the model angle to meet the support structure any more.

Added right nozzle print area checking
We’ve added right nozzle print area checking. You can enable the right print area by choosing the model you want to print with right nozzle and enabling the Move button. Select Right Extruder and select Show Extruder’s Printing Range. The print area will appear then.

Added orthographic view
We’ve added orthographic view. You can enable it in View -> Orthographic View.

Improved path generation and slice speed
ideaMaker is becoming more smarter and faster. We have increased the slicing speed and developed smoother moving path.

Added bookmarks in Uploading Queue
Now you can find the printers which you have made bookmarks for them in Connect to Printer when uploading.

I like your hard work.
I am happy to see a good company that is constantly working for us to ameliorate the software, the community and the printer itself. Congratulations! Don't give up to reach your 2016 goal!

Simplify 3D look out! Now multiple processess is the biggest differentiator between the two. Awesome work guys!

Problems:
1) max global offset on x is -10mm, I was routinely using -15mm.
2) all my printer settings and filament printing settings were erased. This is bad as these settings are important! Now I'm spending all day trying to hone in dual head offset yet once again. This programming shortcut is unnecessary but polishing the program takes some work and you may want to put settings and profiles in a separate settings folder. It is easier to fix this soon as the more versions you get, the more complicated everything becomes.

UPDATE- IMPORTANT!!
with this new version of ideamaker, my global offset is now 2,15. That is 25 mm HIGHER in y than the last itteration. So the -10 as max is correct AND if you are going to print large prints, check this on your machine before printing!!!

Problems:
Uninstall works fine, new install runs through all the loading asking do I want to launch website and program. Program launches and asks for printer info, extruder count, heated bed and what type of filament. Everything works until that point. Afterwards window is 100% black with no options when hitting ALT / CTRL / ESC nothing to see. Only option is to close the window, minimize or resize. After restarting same issue. Previous versions had clean installs. OS is Windows SBS 2008.

Any ideas?

Which version did you use before?
Did you keep the previous installation package? Try whether it can install or not.

After updating to this build when I go upload my sliced files to the printer over the network, it sees the printers, says it's successful but when i go the printer to actually print the file, it's not there. Have restarted my printer a few times now and no luck. Have to manually copy to usb and print from usb.

Can you connect and control your printer via ideaMaker?
Can the file be found with remote control?

I can connect via ideaMaker but after successful upload it cannot be found with remote control.

Maybe your router has re-assigned the printers IP address.
Upload will find it whatever the address, but the IM control panel needs to be re-scanned.

Can you find other files in local storage? Everything is there only except the current one?
Or you can find nothing in local storage?

Would you like to share some pictures of uploading process: choosing a printer to upload, uploading successfully, connecting printer, find every page in local storage but no this file.
Need to share with our engineers to take a look.

Hi Vicky,

The previous version I was using was release 1.7.4.2495 Pretty old I know. It reinstalled without an issue after the installer uninstalled the new version. For fun I tried to re-install the new version and I have the black screen once again. I hope you can troubleshoot why this might happen. I really like using the server to slice and run the CAD, it finishes so fast. I can only imagine how much faster it will be, I tried the new software on the work laptop and I notice speed improvements.

We upgrade the framework of ideaMaker after version 2.0. So it needs your system supports opengl 2.0 or above. Or the display will be abnormal.

The video card is older, ASUS ENGTX570 DCII/2DIS/1280MD5, but still a good card for what it was back when it was installed. It is capable of OpenGL 4.1 so any ideas of what it might be? This is the first time I have run into this issue and I run SolidWorks 2016/2017, Catia and other CAD and graphics intensive programs without too many issues. Word and the typical Excel programs also run without a hitch.

Has anyone else encountered walshg's problem with disappearing settings? I have customized settings and really don't want to take the chance they will disappear.

We are not using the same framework as these softwares.
Please check whether your graphic card driver is installed properly or update your the driver.
Or are you using remote desktop?
