ideaMaker Flow Rate

Postby LonV » Tue Mar 29, 2016 7:03 am

Is the flow rate percentage in the slicing settings a percent of the filament's flow rate? Or is it a percent assuming a 100% flow rate?

I'm trying to adjust flow rate, and the M221 (the setting that gets set in filament panel) isn't having any noticeable effect. I've even set it to 10% to see a major change and nothing seems to output differently (at least not infill) (When I went from 100 to 85 gradually and wasn't noticing any change, I went extreme).

I see a post about the same thing on the old forums, but no resolution, just John saying he needs to dig deeper.

It's very possible I don't understand how ideaMaker uses these settings.

Filament flowrate = the flowrate you can change on touchscreen.
flow rate percentage in the slicing settings: there are several of them. It affects specific part of the model.
The actual flowrate is those 2 multiple together.
Which flow rate percentage you have changed?

I change the one in the filament settings. No value there seemed to affect the print in any way. Like I said originally, I went from 100-85 gradually and no visible change. So then I went extreme at went to 10% and no change.

We have performed the same tests and got similar results as you. Our software engineers are looking into this issue now.
You can change the flow rate in slicing template instead of the filament setting for now. We will release an update when we figure out what is the problem.

Has this issue been resolved in ideaMaker?

That was not the fault of ideaMaker, but the motion board firmware.
We should already fixed it in version 1.1.1 which is inside our download center.
You can test and advise.
