Print exceeded extruder limits

Hi Vicky,

Just had a print fail after several hours because it was outside the X axis extruder range. I was using the right hand extruder and the part had an angle such that it printed okay at the start, but as it went up it exceeded the printing boundary on the left of the table.

Can IM have a detect feature added that would turn the part red if it exceeds the right extruder limits?

hmm interesting that it slipped by, it usually seems to check the bounding box

FWIW, may I suggest changing view to orthographic, looking from the top with show print limits on before big prints

It only checks the bounding box for the part against the left extruder limits, it doesn't check against the right extruder limits. Now 3 of these limits are the same - front, back & right - but the left limits are different for each extruder

Your suggestion is sound and I would normally do that, but I was in a hurry. I had just printed one and I moved the item a few millimetres to the left to 'even out the wear on the buildtak' so I didn't feel the need to verify the position

Thanks for your information.
But the currently logic in ideaMaker, it will be hard to detect whether the right nozzle's model is out of bounding during positioning. But after we get its coordinates during slicing, things will be much easier.
We will consider to add an error prompt like Raft during slicing for the models out of bounding.
